Who: Anyone
Where: northern common area
When: Day 184, afternoon
What: stitches

[The best part of cave life with nerfed heals, tired mages, a stubborn exorcist, and a heart run full of razor-sharp glass = self-stitching. Allen has opted to not make a mess of Lacerta's insides or outsides and is stoically sewing up one of the bigger gashes on his forearm right now. He has various first aid supplies laid out, he's shirtless, and he's wearing one of his crappier pairs of rags. I mean pants.

He's pretty good at this. He's barely even flinching.]

[that was on purpose...]

I am... it was exhausting. The whole time I kept worrying, "We're going to break the wrong thing and permanently rearrange her brain..."

[wring out rag, continues]

I'm sure it's hard not to feel that way. You feel you were successful though?

. . . Yes. Actually. . . it didn't feel too invasive, the way it played out. All everyone did was put things back the way they ought to be. It was fairly straightforward, and her heart... it wanted us there, helped us help her. We just put things into place for her.

I'm glad it turned out well then...

Me too. She... before we went in... it was like she could barely think or focus on what was right in front of her.

This is going to sound stupid, but... helping her to restore herself, seeing all that broken glass cleaned up... it's the first time I've felt like an exorcist here.

It's not surprising.

... I just hope that can continue. I don't expect things to go that well all the time.

Mm. Well that's true of being an exorcist as well. Just don't expect this will always be the way to help someone...

No, of course not. I know you're right.

[Finishes with the wounds on his back, moving around to start down his arm]

Just enjoy the good you've done, for now?

[Frowns a bit as a thought occurs to him]

If you intend to go through that area you may want to be careful...

Why is that?

[...doesn't really want to pull you out of the glow of one of the few good things that's been accomplished recently, but...]

I visited not too long ago to complete a trade with Rain and... there were signs of terapede activity all over the area.

. . . Terapedes, are you serious?

[fighting off the chill that thinking about terapedes gives him :|]

I wouldn't be able to mistake it even if I wished to. But they're... aware of it, so presumably they feel the threat's passed...

I would still give the area some berth for a while.

... What does it look like? All those cracks?

holes in the stone, as if it were drilled through, or ridges in the soil. I'm afraid I didn't pay much attention to any cracks.
