[ another block-shove combo, but tacks on a side slow slash at the end of it. ]

[Parrying it but it's a little more awkward this time and his stance isn't quite distributed right for it, the movement less familiar to him.]

... That wasn't quite right, sorry. Your sword is really different, I guess.

[Moving back into a more natural position, sword held out in front at the ready]

It's all right, Simba-san isn't bad! [ slowly settles himself, and then aims a highstrike coming down left to right. ]

[THIS one he knows; parrying it more naturally this time above his body and trying to shove it back]

[ pleasantly surprised :D moves backwards with the shove, taking a half-step back and then shoving right back. ]

[Holding firm, trying his luck at using his strength to push forward, moving closer while maintaining the deadlock.]

[ he's at a disadvantage in a body-to-body lock like this, so he drops his left hand, trying to dump Albert off to the side and break the deadlock. ]

[Wasn't expecting that at all, and rather predictably does slide off to the side.]

Ah, I wasn't even sure it would work, it was-- in my memory, I was fighting a guy taller and stronger than I was, and he forced me into a deadlock like that ... I lost, haha. So I'm going to have to remember that move for next time!

... More than I would've, too.

[Shakes his head] I still don't want to fight people, Soujirou. This sword ... I have a good idea by now why I know how to use it, but I don't think I could ever use it to harm or kill another person, even back then. I'll defend myself because I don't want to be a burden on my team ... but that's it.

A sword is meant to kill people. [ then he laughs a little ] But there are some really amazing people out there. Himura-san's sword was a sword that protected.

... I want to be able to do that, too. Almost desperately so. ... But the way this place works ... where and how do you draw the line between protecting someone and hurting another in the process?

I think that's how it is everywhere. Ah! . . . [ draws his sword and holds it out, and then flips it around. ] Himura-san had a sword like this, a sword that doesn't kill. It didn't mean that people didn't get hurt, though. But you can't protect people half-heartedly. It takes even more resolve, I think, than killing someone.

[Shakes his head emphatically] I could never kill someone. Never.

[... Looks at Soujirou's sword instead of keeping on that line of thought, and then really looks at it once he realises what Soujirou was describing] ... I ... wouldn't know how to go about making something like that in the style I'm used to, I don't think. ... My kind of blade is made to be sharp on both sides. But I guess ... that can be a project to keep me busy, huh.

. . . [ sheaths the sword ] Maybe Simba-san would be strong enough to not have to limit himself that way. I wouldn't be. But my sword is still a sword that kills, too.

... I'd have to train a lot ... to be able to successfully live up to those words. After all, they're pretty useless if I can't back them up.
