That's Van! He's usually here earlier than this, but it looks like he brought breakfast as usual.

Van's wings. We don't see them often, but they're really huge! . . . and they shed all over the place. How can he move around a room this size with things that big?

Van's hair sure is looking more blue today.
Wait. Since when did Van start dying his hair? And why blue? And why with paint?

Mmm, roasting bearbee. Always a delicious way to start the day. Those look a bit more mangled than usual, but they still smell good.

Van's shirt and cape. Looks like he left them on the counter when he came in. The cape's folded strangely . . . wait, did it just move?]

Morning nothing! [GATHERING UP FEATHERS]

What's going on? Why is your hair blue?!

Kid from Delphinus.

It dried before I got it all out.

You can't just leave it in there! What is that? Is that paint? [COMING OVER while still picking up feathers!!]

Think so.

[Tries to rake a hand through it, only to get stuck halfway.

. . . his hand still manages to come away flecked with dried blue spots.]

Thought you might know how to fix it.

We'll have to wash it out, of course. Don't tell me you just tried rubbing it out. . .though if it's still flaking, that's a good sign.

The water got some of it. Didn't realize there was more until later.

Not sure what to do about that, either.

[Nods back toward the pile of clothing Chris is peeking under.]

[...............]

Why is he under there? And we're getting the rest out, it looks ridiculous.

One of the ceiling flyers. It got hit with paint too.

. . .

You want to wash that thing too?

It's that or Mikaila's spider. It won't survive like it is.

. . .ah. I-I guess not. (Though I'm still a bit surprised he brought it back alive. . .)

Do you think it'll hold still long enough for me to wash it?

Pretty sure it's worn out. Most of those went after it.

[Nods over at where their bearbee breakfast is cooking.]

It stopped trying to bite me after the last one.

Those things really don't get along, huh?

Ha. . .well then, if it'll behave, we can help it. But you do intend to take it back to the lake later, right?

Don't think it'd survive long around here, either.

No, and I don't imagine we would either if it went stir crazy. It's. . .sort of furry, so it can't be that hard to give it a good washing! It might take a bit longer, since I don't know if soap is good for bees. Bats. Beebat hybrids. Whatever they are.

Well, it looks like a bee, but it has wings like a bat, so! I could just call it 'weird thing' to avoid confusion.

Bring it over to the sink. [WATCHING ANIMAL THING CAREFULLY 8|]

Don't think I know what either of those are to start with.

[Brings it over, shifting the beebat so he can hold it behind the wings.]

Huh. Bees are just bugs with stingers. . .but pretty sure they aren't supposed to be this big!

Really small. Pretty sure they're no bigger than like. . .the tip of your finger. I'm no biologist, but these things here? Definitely not normal.
