Who: Corvus, Lynx, anyone else
Where: Outside the Corvus dorm, in the common area
When: Day 150, late afternoon
What: Intro post

[Speaking of skinny boy(?)s wandering around outside the Corvus/Lynx area -- a fairly tall and unhealthily-thin young man has exited the Corvus dorms and is looking around in some confusion. He looks very pale -- especially in brilliantly-coloured Corvus uniform -- and not very healthy. Visible on his bare neck is a long scar along his neck, as if cut with a knife some years ago, and his bare hands are covered in strange black smoky patches.

He looks quite lost, and more wary to see others than relieved]

...Good evening...?

Do you want a list of the other teams too? Not all of them have clear leaders though.

There's fourteen normal teams. Yours and your partner's are the newest, so I don't know much about them yet. I don't know who Lynx's leader is either, or if they have one.

My partner team is Vulpecula, orange. Their leader is Lucky. She's blond and energetic, impossible to miss if you see her. They're a good, dependable team if you can get off to a good start with them.

Then there's Pyxis and Cygnus, red and pink. Pyxis is a real . . . they're a team that can be pretty rough in the games. And they like fighting things out. They . . . aren't bad though. I got a sister there. Ikki's their leader. The guy with black hair. Cygnus . . . doesn't have a leader right now. They're a pretty quiet team lately too. Not bad though . . .

Cepheus and Orion, yellow and a purple darker than yours. Cepheus is a great team. They seem to get along with everyone, and a lot of their guys are really good in the games. Their leader's Red, the guy with red hair and an eyepatch. Orion's . . . not bad either. Their leader's a great guy, and they got two kids that seem okay . . . Don't know the rest too well though. The older guy with blue eyes there is their leader. Jim.

Pavo and Delphinus, light blue and a purple lighter than yours. They're both pretty good teams. Pavo's the more peaceful one, and they're good at making soap if you like that kinda shit. Their leader's one of the only people here who can work with metal and knows where to find it too—Cepheus is the other team who can manage that. Her name's Feathers, and she's the girl with pink messy hair. Delphinus . . . I guess their leader is Link, the guy with long blond hair. They're a kinda serious team, and you should keep an eye out for the smiling freak, but they're pretty good guys in general.

[He's been pretty calm and even with his descriptions up to now, but his face darkens briefly while he talks about Lepus, evening out again as he continues on to Monoceros] Then there's . . . Lepus and Monoceros. Brown and white. Lepus has some fucking dangerous guys, so it's safer to stay away. The white-haired midget and girl with bandages are the worst, but you can deal with the rest if you really have to. I don't know if they have a leader or not. Monoceros is pretty forgettable. I think they're led by the guy with the demon tail? Almaz or something . . . They're another peaceful team from what I remember.

[. . . and in contrast, he brightens considerably talking about Lacerta and closes off abruptly when mentioning Canis] The last two are Lacerta and Canis. Dark green and dark blue. Lacerta's . . . really great. All of them are really good people. They've got a healing stone that they'll help people out with whenever they're able to, but it's been limited by the Judges recently. —And they're the only team that knows where the salt is. You can do pretty fair trading with them to get some of it. They're one of the teams that doesn't really have a leader, but Aeris and Allen are always good to talk to if you want to make sure a message gets to the whole team. Aeris usually has a staff with her and she's the oldest girl on the team, and Allen's got a star shaped scar on his face. You can't miss him. Canis's leader is Jace. You'll know him by the lines on his face.

[watching Gokudera's mouth intensely as he talks, unblinkingly focused on it. When it's clear Dera isn't going to say anything else, he blinks a few times as if to refocus them]

[nods after a long moment, clearly mulling this over] You didn't say much about Canis.

You gotta ask someone else if you want to know about that team. I can't say much anymore. . . . Try Delphinus. Ask for Shiki or Zero.

[brief nod, eyes fixed on his mouth again] Okay. Thank you. It sounds like each of the teams has a... place? Set position? ...understanding with the others. Except the new ones.

Yeah. All of the older teams have been around for . . . at least two or three months? They've had a lot of time to find areas to specialize in and figure out who they do and don't get along with.

How old is the oldest team?

. . . The teams used to have just four people. There were a lot less teams in the beginning. Four at the beginning, seven when I woke up, then one day there were ten . . . We used to live in a different block. The homes were smaller, there wasn't so much open space, no rivers or lake, not every team had space to have a garden. Food was harder to get back then too.

When we moved to this block, Pavo and Delphinus got added and the teams expanded to hold six people. All the homes being different from each other is new too. They were all the same back in the North Block. And there wasn't a black team then . . . None of those rules either. And we didn't have these until the move. [gestures to his bracer]

It sounds like they're building towards something... maybe. "Development", not ... haphazard growth, maybe.

[looks down at his own bracers] What do they do?

Probably . . .

Ah, these? They keep you from forgetting again. If you take it off, you'll be the same as the moment you woke up and won't be able to remember anything new. They also keep fucking psychics out of your head and restrict powers that people might have.

Psychics are -- [pause, and then a little awkward, because DUH] ...people who can get into your head. Mm.
