her facial expression lightens a little bit at the start, and her eyes widen as she's given more information, and it looks like it may finally be a good memory... until her face turns furious and tears form at the edges of her eyes. close, so close and still rejected she starts to rage]

[Cain rejects her and mentions his father, Alexis, Alexis who recommeneded the surgery that made the rot worse, Alexis who wanted to end the world (and what would happen to her, she'd die, she'd die too), Alexis who took care of her, Alexis who must have gotten rid of her when she couldn't get Cain's love and the child for the sacrifice.

Cain who must have been telling the truth. Cain who had declared he wasn't going to be be his father's puppet, that he would no longer play the role of the unfortunate child. Cain had been rejecting her because rejecting her meant rejecting Alexis!

Cain who knew her situation before she did, and didn't try to save her from Alexis, her real enemy all along, even as he stroked her hair and promised she'd be loved.

she starts crying, furiously, raging, but the tears come anyway]

I never had anyone! I was being used, every time he held me, every kind word! And- [her voice tightens, climbing up the octave] Cain knew! He was right! He knew and never tried to help, just rejected me, over and over and didn't tell me to leave, didn't tell me why!

I-I hate them! I hate them both!
