Running for Home

If I had known how much sleep I'd be losing due to have a newborn in the house I think I might have reconsidered having our beautiful baby girl, luckily this thought only creeps in in the early morning hours when said daughter is keeping me and Lindsey up. Now that Lilly's here I wouldn't change things for the world. I'm still on maternity leave for a month or two and I still have plenty of time to decide if I really want to go back to work.


It was a typical day of tying to catch up on sleep and taking care of Lilly while Lindsey was away at work. Things have calmed down and become dare I say it 'normal' so naturally there's bound to be something that will ruin this nice bit of normalcy that we have going on. I just hope that it isn't anything to dramatic and drastic.

Soon enough Lilah went into labor, and it was up to me to get her to the hospital in time so that she didn't give birth inside of the house. I'd personally rather her not pull that off, thanks. I'm not really into natural home birth, and by the way that Lilah was screaming in pain in my ear, she really wasn't, either.

I loaded her and her gigantic suitcase up in the truck (thank god that she packed it ahead of time, or we'd be screwed) and started driving toward the hospital. "Just keep breathing, OK?" I said, keeping my eyes on the road so that I didn't hit anyone as I sped along.

It's been a while now and up until the fake contractions started and I look huge. Lindsey of course is being super supportive which is nice most of the time. Today wasn't one of those days though. He just seemed to me to be too much with the hovering. I've been ordered to bed rest by the doctor,but I can get up a little bit. Or I could if Lindsey would let me. "Lindsey I'm okay the doctor even said I could get up and move around a little..."
