Rise and shine!
Who: Autumn and Mazie
When: Very early morning
Where: Hallyway, then Cafeteria
Success. Finally success. Mazie had grabbed a few hours of sleep last night, woken up early, and come down to make the finishing touches on the game. When it started up and she heard the telltale sounds if the game, she smiled. Testing it, Mazie grinned even more when it successfully let her play.
She'd not taken into consideration that it was pretty early still. Time was fluid when she was working on something, nothing more than a number that she mostly ignored. Now was no different, since Mazie was rushing up the stairs and toward Autumn's room, beaming a smile as she knocked on the door with a bit more excitement than she would normally use for knocking.
Autumn had been crashed out entirely, so the knock on her door was a little jarring. However, she got up immediately, with only a little bit of a fuzzy groan. She padded barefoot over to the door and opened it up, smiling at the girl out there. Mazie. Of course. No one else woke her up this early. And even if it was only a few moments after being jarred back into the land of the living, she smiled a genuine if sleepy smile at her. "Mmmmorning." she said, voice ever so slightly hoarse from sleep.
Mazie was stuck for a moment, staring at Autumn as her smile softened. "I promise I wouldn'ta woken you up if it wasn't for a good reason. I have a surprise for you." When was the last time she'd felt this giddy? Aside from getting infront of a computer again, not for a very long time. "I wanna show you..."
Giggling lightly, she reached out to grab the front of Mazie's shirt, pulling her in. "I like surprises." she told the blonde, before she gave her a greeting kiss. She drew it out just a little, before she pulled back. "I'll throw some clothes on, unless it's so important everyone needs to catch me in my nightgown?" she asked, arching a brow.
It was so hard to want to leave this. This is what a perfect morning was beginning to feel like for Mazie. Still, though, there was something Mazie had to show her. Kissing her back, Mazie smiled again. Then she watched Autumn and ended up again her head. "I'd prefer that be just me. I like you in your nightgown too much to want to share."
Autumn laughed, and spun for her, before she dug out some comfortable clothes, one being a long sleeved shirt, because it seemed pretty wet out there today. She pulled them on, then headed back to Mazie. "Do I have to close my eyes? Should we find a blindfold?" she asked, grinning.
How could she not smile at that? Autumn was insanely adorable, even just out of bed, and it was all Mazie could do not to pull her back into an embrace and spend a rainy day inside with her. But there was a pressing matter of alien invasion downstairs and she had to get them both down there before she failed at it altogether and ended up in Autumn’s bed. “We could or I could just cover your eyes. My hands are...hang on,” Not clean, apparently. She headed into Autumn’s bathroom, washed her hands vigorously, and came back now. “Clean now! Let’s go!”
Giggling again, Autumn turned her back to Mazie, so the girl could cover her eyes. This was fun. This was how she wanted to wake up in the morning. With fun things, surprises, and Mazie. Seemed like more than the way to go. She was feeling good.
Mazie smiled a little, covering Autumn's eyes and leading her out of the room and towards the stairs. She stopped just before she got there and then lowered her hands. "This is gonna be too dangerous and I don't want to be responsible for breaking your ankles. But I gotta cover your eyes when we get to the bottom again, deal?" Glancing back at Autumn, Mazie offered her hand instead. "You wanna guess what the surprise might be?"
“You could always put me in the elevator.” Autumn told her, laughing. “But sure. I don’t want to break anything either. And I don’t want to guess! I want to be surprised!” she said affectionately, nudging Mazie’s side.
Mazie grinned a little, heading instead towards the elevator. "You know, you're right. Let's be lazy for once. You did just get dragged out of bed, after all. It'd be extra cruel to make you walk down the stairs."
Once the doors opened, she stepped into the elevator with another grin. "Ok, fair enough. No guessing then. But I think you're gonna like it," Mazie said. She waited impatiently as the elevator transported them and then when the doors were open, Mazie's hands went over Autumn's eyes again. She guided her towards the open doors and out of them, walking behind and just to the side of Autumn. "Ok, almost there….and Voila!" She said, dropping her hands once they were just beside the game, up and running smoothly still.
Autumn looked and laughed, even going so far as to clap. “Oh! It’s working! Eee!” she said, excited, and she grinned devilishly at Mazie. “So, we going to rock this, then?” she asked. “You going to teach me just what I got myself into, bringing this into our little world?”
Their world. How did she hear that and not just beam? "Hell yeah, I'm gonna teach you but judging by the fact that you're pretty incredible at just about everything, you'll probably teach me some stuff." She smiled a little, coming over to the machine and offering Autumn the side with the chair she'd dragged out from the cafeteria earlier, and realizing just now that she needed to get another one some other time. "Let's get this started! You're the very first person to play the game, aside from me testing it for a quick second earlier."
Autumn looked up and smiled at her. "You haven't even played a game yet? I'm breaking this in? You do remember I got this for you, right?" she asked, smiling as she reached out, snagging Mazie's wrist. She pulled her closer, purposely getting her in close enough to capture her lips again, dragging it out just a tiny bit.
"We're breaking this in. I do remember you got it for me, but I also know that there's no one else I'd rather play the first game with than you." When she was pulled in for a kiss, she smiled into it, not wanting to break way at all. She glanced back at the chair and then once more at Autumn. "You know, I think we could make this one chair thing work if you're willing to sit on my lap…"
Grinning, Autumn liked the idea of one chair. Her mind had been going in the same direction, really. "Or you could always hop on mine..." she invited, patting her lap as she winked at Mazie. "Can't promise I won't be distracting, though." she added.
"Can't promise my ass isn't really boney, so…" She trailed off, but followed Autumn over and smiled, sitting on her lap as carefully as she could. "If your legs fall asleep, we'll switch, ok?" Reaching up, Mazie started a game, and shifted so she wasn't blocking the joystick from Autumn. "It's finally working. I've told a couple people they could play it once it was up, but you had to have the first game. Plus I don't know I'm ready to share it with anyone else yet other than you."
Autumn slid her arms around Mazie, hugging her there for a moment before she reached around her to test that she could easily reach the joystick. And she could. Though with Mazie sitting where she was, her mind wasn't entirely focused on the game.
Mazie watched the game for a moment then couldn't help herself, reaching to cover Autumn's hand with her own and work with her to make their little space defender zip from side to side. Looking back at Autumn for just a second, Mazie couldn't help the bright grin on her face. "Isn't this great?"
"Mmhmmmm." Autumn said, nuzzling just a little at Mazie's shoulder. "I'm full of happy right now." she assured her. She made an attempt to focus on the game again, but her attention was still divided. Not enough for her to be screwing up the game, just enough that she was able to appreciate Mazie's demeanor. She looked happy too. Excited. And that was a beautiful thing.
It took Mazie a little longer than it should have to realize that her attention shouldn't be on the game, It was when she looked down and saw her hand over Autumn's that she really started to realize that Autumn was there, letting her sit on her lap, and Mazie was just playing a game. Yes, granted, a game she loved but…Autumn was there. Letting her hand drop off the controls, Mazie turned on Autumn's lap and forgot about the actual gameplay, instead choosing to look back at Autumn and smile. It took her less time to lean in and kiss Autumn, one hand going to Autumn's cheek as she did so. When she pulled back, she was still smiling. "Thank you."
That was what she liked. That was all sorts of nice, and there was a soft sound out of Autumn that was nothing but appreciative. "For the game?" she asked, tugging her closer again to give her another light little kiss.
"For the game, for more than the game. I really hated the idea of coming here at first." She still wasn't one hundred percent convinced that she'd done anything really that wrong to begin with, but that was another story. "But I got here and saw you and you are this…beacon of everything good, you know? And I just…I really like you, Autumn. So just…thank you, for being awesome and letting me get to know you and wake you up at super-early-in-the-morning-o'clock." Mazie leaned back in to return the light kiss, smiling more as she thought of, again, just how damn lucky she'd been since she showed up at this place.
Autumn was rather desperately wishing that they weren’t in the cafeteria. Mazie’s little speech there made her want to take her to bed, as soon as humanly possible. Which she wasn’t going to do, because she was taking things with Mazie slowly, but good goddamn, did she ever not want to be taking that route right now. What she did do was put her arms up around Mazie’s neck, and kissed her like she meant it. She might not say she wanted to get her naked right this second, but her kiss gave at least a hint at that.
That kiss. Wow. Mazie left it breathless, head close to Autumn's as she regained as much of her air as she could. The game was there, little sounds tinging in the air behind them, but she didn't hear it. For the first time, Mazie felt something different with someone. It wasn't the comfort or the sweetness that she usually felt with Autumn, it was something else. A little twinge, a little heat, something else had her attention and it had her smiling a little, maybe more of a smirk. "I think I woke you up too early. Wanna go back to your room?" Even if just to get them back in bed, somewhere private. Or private-ish.
"God yes." Autumn breathed, not quite sure how far she was going to take things, but there was going to be at the very least a good make out session in their future. She'd curb her clear, heated desire for Mazie just enough, but god. She really did just want her.
