Face to face would be more personal, but it was better to put some distance between all of them considering how intense things had been earlier. If things went well with the message he sent to them, then maybe they could have a face to face meeting.
He shuddered at the idea of things like electroshock therapy and the like. "They'd probably just claim that they were helping us, too," he said with a sigh. He liked not being in jail and all, but there was a difference between the punishment there (solitary confinement, privileges taken away, or even years added to your sentence) than the more corporal punishment that seemed to be the case around here. "If they try to break out things like bull whips, that's where I draw the damn line," he said.
