where are you now?
Characters: Hannah Setting: Her room, 7am
Her head ached with a soreness that pounded through her vision as her eyes slowly came open. Hannah trembled, a single breath escaping in panic as the sound coming from across the room beckoned her to awake. She was in an unfamiliar place, but the unfamiliarity of being places she didn't want to be was not new to her. Had everything been a dream since Nebraska?
Reluctantly, Hannah jolted upright in her bed, sifting out from between the sheets. The scenery had changed, a lot. There were no prison bars or cement walls littered with graffiti. It still felt the same, and she knew what a prison meant. It was more than dank conditions and often made by the walls of ones own mind. Even as her hand trembled, Hannah prepared herself while approaching the computer keyboard. Like a mouse testing the trap she quickly poked at the space bar and then withdrew. The bright light of the monitor came to life, flashing it's messages before her eyes.
She read it all carefully and thoroughly but nothing seemed to sink in just yet. Leave her room? Fat chance.
