She'd been in the shower relishing in the hot water and privacy when the fireworks started. They startled her until she peeked out the window and realized what they were, and then she smiled slightly and skinned quickly into a pair of sleep pants and a tank top before grabbing a blanket and heading outside again. Too bad she didn't have a glass of wine; she remembered the last fourth when she'd been free, the fireworks and the blanket and the wine she'd shared with Franklin. It gave her a pang.
She spread out the blanket on the ground and rolled up the towel she'd been carrying anyway to rest her head on. She was tired, but she didn't want to sleep, so something to keep her awake for now would be best. She sighed softly as she laid back, letting her feet go off the blanket and her toes dig into the grass.
