Waking up to be greeted with what probably qualified as the worst hangover of her,it took Meg a little while to realise where she was, the hard floor beneath her accounting for the slight stiffness in her muscles. With a vague memory of being unable to sleep coming back to her, she untangled herself from the bedding wrapped around her and struggled to her feet, hand braced against the dryer beside her to stop from falling over. Feeling more than a little disorientated and not entirely awake, feelings not entirely helped by the dull pounding sensation behind her eyes, it was slow progress making her way back to hers and Dominic's room only to find it locked. Frowning, she tugged on the handle a couple of times and called Dom's name, figuring he was off somewhere when there was no reply, probably getting food if the growling in her stomach was anything to go by.
Figuring she'd at least try to make herself feel more human before attempting to find him, she went into room 14 and after dumping the sheets on the bed, went into the bathroom and set the shower running, drinking from the faucet on the sink until the water was hot enough before stripping off and climbing in. The shower went someway to making her feel better and padding out of the bathroom leaving a trail of water, she tugged on a dress and some underwear, deciding to check the journals before heading out to find him.
There her eyes fell on the message from the administrators and the whole world suddenly narrowed down to just her and the words in front on the screen. Dominic Ravin...Unsuitable...Removed...Permanently. She read them again and again and all the heat that had built up on her skin from the shower vanished disappeared under a wash of cold and her blood started to pound in her ears. Dimly she was aware of a cry of anguish bubbling from her own throat that she felt rather than heard and in a moment where she seemed to leave her own body, watched dispassionately as the monitor was swept from the desk and sent crashing to the floor, screen shattering into pieces that littered the floor around her feet.
He was gone and Meg had been left behind, again, surrounded by broken glass as water dripped from her still wet hair onto her shoulders unnoticed with nothing she could do about it.
