"Basically, I was raped a few years ago and I pushed it to a trial and everything. I knew who did it, and all. But when he got off, that's when I assaulted him. So it was a couple of years of one thing after another, all told, before I did that." The straw that had broken everything had been Franklin being unable to deal anymore. She didn't really blame him, not anymore, but it had hurt very much at the time, and really focussed her rage and depression. "Going out for the night, getting to see the new movies. Meet people who don't want to jump you for breathing their air," she said wryly, humor in her voice.
