Carmel grinned faintly. "Oh, I'm a convict, no worries. There doesn't seem to be anyone here who isn't." Her eyebrows rose a bit. "You've not noticed there are a bunch of girls running around too?" she said, glancing over at him. Of course, she wasn't sure just how long he'd been here, so it was possible she was the first female he'd seen. She paused in her stirring of the batter, looking at him with concern as he seemed to tense up and zone out for a moment. "You okay, Brady?" she asked, but after his earlier reaction, she didn't close the distance or try to touch him, opting to stay where she was.
