It was god-awful early and another night of little sleep. She had woken tangled in the sheets, trying to fight her way free, a small scream on her lips that she had muffled as quickly as she could. She had sat there for a long time before pulling free slowly, tossing her sweaty linens off her bed and going to take a shower.
Going back to sleep would be a hopeless and nightmare ridden thing, so she gave the idea up with next to no consideration and headed to her sanctuary, the kitchen. She had a game plan for it, which she took a moment to post to her journal before heading in. Waffles sounded great to her, and homemade fruit syrup would be time consuming. She pulled up a little short in surprise when she saw someone was already there.
"Hello," she greeted with her normal friendly smile. "Sorry, I didn't expect anyone to be up yet. I'm Carmel." She held her hand out when she got close enough.
