It's Kind of Like Ding Dong Ditch Characters: Alice
Setting: Garden, then outside Room 34
Even though they had agreed that they would meet the next day, Alice didn't really want to wait to get Adam another plant. She had agreed to meet him despite her uncertainty, because he had seemed nice and also because apparently, even over the computer, she couldn't say no to anyone. She certainly hadn't expected all of this to come about just because she had given someone a plant, but… She had been telling the truth when she had talked to Adam. She was glad that her mint plant had come in handy, that he had been able to use it to talk that mean girl into agreeing to participate in the activity. And he had seemed to regret giving it up, even if he seemed pleased by the outcome. Besides, she had nothing else to do right now.
Heading outside and back to the greenhouse, she found another pot and also some mint seeds. Since she was here, she would also go ahead and plant some to make up for the plant she was taking, as well as the one she had already taken. Grabbing the hand shovel she had used earlier, she headed back outside and over to the herb section. This time, she took a little longer, examining the entire row of mint plants. Finally, she found one she was happy with, not quite as small as the last one, but still healthy. Satisfied, she sat down, ignoring the dirt, and carefully dug the plant up, careful to leave plenty of extra dirt around the roots. Before putting it in the pot, she gave it a sniff; she was fairly sure it was peppermint and not spearmint, but she wasn't positive. Repotting it, she gathered more dirt, making sure the little plant would be okay in its new pot.
When she finished, Alice went about planting the new seeds in the empty spaces left by the two plants she had taken. Standing up, she brushed off her jeans and picked up her tools and Adam’s plant. Heading back to the greenhouse, she carefully put the tools and seeds back where she had gotten them. Picking the plant back up, she headed back out to Adam’s door. She hesitated for a moment before putting the plant where she had put the last one. Stepping back, she debated for a moment about what she should do next. She didn't actually want to just leave it sitting out there, just in case that other girl noticed. But they weren't supposed to meet until tomorrow. Making up her mind, she knocked loudly on the door, just to get his attention so hopefully he would notice the plant, before dashing back to her room.
