Leandro relaxed a bit after Adam responded, but still had a slightly drawn look to his face. He too had picked up on the idea of it being an insult, though he was much more aware of homophobia out there in the world and had even been on the receiving end of it a time or two. Jail wasn't a kind place for anyone out of the ordinary. If that's what Adam was hinting at, then it made more sense to him.
He appreciated as well that Kyle was trying to play now, and threw him a quick smile, but something else was on his mind. Leandro responded by shaking his head wryly, instinctively stretching his neck to the side to show off the scrawling lines there. "I do have room, somewhere or another, and I'd love to show you," he said with a slight lilt over the last bit. "But business is going to have to wait till later. I have company to get back to right now."
It felt better to re-assert his purpose for the evening as socializing with Wren. It'd suddenly felt wrong to be so off-track, to see her wilting in company she seemed to be having some trouble with. It was another foreign concept to him, but he hoped that could try to bolster her up by changing her focus, too. As he leaned there in front of her with his arms folded, he tilted his head in a curious, somewhat feline manner. The tilt helped him to level his eyes more with hers with the way she had her head ducked.
"Hey, Wren," he called to her softly as if beckoning her back out. "You know what I just remembered? Now I've shown you all kinds of stuff and I haven't given you the opportunity to show me something. You said you were going to bring your cards with you. Do you still want to do that? I'd like to see."
