Re: Jason and Reggie
"I'd rather that you didn't," Reggie said, laughing himself. Hopefully no one was planning on doing anything stupid or destructive tonight. That would get annoying rather quick. "Now, I am more than OK with you throwing yourself at me, or on my bed, or anything of that sort." Yeah, he knew Jason had probably left that opening on purpose, but he had to take it. It was just his nature. "And this costume? It appealed to me. It's just not in me to pick something that would make me blend in." He at least hadn't worn the wig that had come along with it. He liked his own hair just fine, thank you.
"Well, don't worry. You definitely don't blend in," Jason assured the other man, grinning. "Although, to be honest, you probably wouldn't do much blending in even if you picked a more... subtle costume." Because this particular costume was, in a way, just an external representation of Reggie's personality. So even had he picked something more low-key, Reggie would stand out anyway, by merit of his personality. He kind of liked that about the other man.
"I don't think I could blend in if I tried," Reggie admitted with a bit of a laugh. Not that he'd ever want to, because that was just bloody dull in his mind, but he didn't think he'd pull it off even if he was trying to stay low to the ground. "You know me, I'm not really known for my subtlety." He was far more known for blurting out whatever came to mind and letting people know his feelings, typically.
Jason smiled slightly. "Yeah, the lack of subtlety was kind of hard to miss. It's not really a bad thing though." Reggie's lack of subtlety, that openness and tendency to say what he was thinking had been, admittedly, part of why he had been drawn to the other man that first day. He hadn't been worried about what the other man was thinking, or what he was planning, because the other man hadn't bothered to hide what went through his mind. It had made it easy to trust Reggie, and he really couldn't complain about where that had gotten them.
"Well, you know me. I'm king of lack of subtlety...which should be my royal title and everything," Reggie joked, smirking. Reggie really was the type to just say whatever he thought, for better or worse. It had mostly gotten him through life alright, anyway. He tried not to over think things, least of all because it gave him a headache and he had enough of those. "So, what shall we do first? Get a drink, or a dance? I'll have you know that I'm a fantastic dancer."
Jason made a show of considering for a moment. "Drink," he said after a moment, grinning. Bumping up against Reggie, he nudged him in the direction of the bar. "Because you might be a fantastic dancer, but it's going to take more than what I've had for me to keep up." Okay, keep up might be a bit of an exaggeration, but it would take more than one drink for him to actually be comfortable out there.
Reggie gave Jason a small hip bump back before heading over to the drink table, making a drink for both himself and Jason. "Oh, I'm sure that you've got plenty of rhythm," he said with a wink, handing him a glass before taking a sip of his own.
Taking the glass with a smile, Jason took a sip before blinking in surprise and taking a second look at whatever Reggie had given him. It was... quite a bit stronger than he had expected. Had he been looking to get drunk, it wouldn't have taken too many like that, so one or two would be enough to give him that push towards relaxing enough to be able to actually enjoy himself on the dance floor. "It's not the rhythm that's the problem. It's the people." As much as he normally did not have problems like this, this was one of the few things that made him a bit self-conscious really.
Well, let's just say that Reggie definitely enjoyed his drinks strong, huh? He shrugged a little when Jason mentioned the people around. "I'm pretty sure most of them are off in their own little worlds by now," Reggie mentioned, looking around at the different people in the room. Seemed like at least most of them were busy. "I highly doubt they'll be paying much attention to us, even if we are the best looking couple in the room," he remarked, sipping at his drink.
