Re: Jason and Reggie
Sliding up beside Reggie, Jason grinned. "Your majesty," he teased. Unable to keep his eyes from wandering appreciatively, he looked the man over again as he added, "You look... amazing."
If Reggie realized that he had sort of accidentally ended up with something out of Jason's favorite books, he would have wondered if the administrators had set this up a little bit. Not that he would have minded terribly in this instance, though! Plus, he was having a good time wearing something so over the top. He was good at catching the eye of others. If only he had the long hair to really pull off this look, right?
Reggie grinned when Jason walked up to him. Seeing him in the masquerade version of a fire fighter's getup? Reggie was most definitely liking this at the moment. He bowed appreciatively when Jason called him 'your majesty.' "I'm not the only one here tonight who looks amazing, if I do say so myself," he said, giving Jason a slight leer.
Rolling his eyes, though that was more in response to the leer than the compliment, Jason's grin gave away the fact that, contrary to his actions, he really didn't mind. Other than that though, he didn't respond because he knew better than to encourage Reggie right then. Still, he couldn't help but let himself bump up against the other man, grinning fondly as he asked, "Having fun?" It wasn't really his thing, but he couldn't complain. It had been fun seeing everyone dressed up and it was certainly better now that he had found Reggie.
Reggie truly should not be encouraged in any way. He would just take it as permission and run with it. He was kind of like a little kid that way. Give him an inch and he would take a mile. "Already having tons just by seeing who showed up in what costume," he admitted, looking around. "What about you?" He knew that this wouldn't quite be Jason's scene, but he was glad that the younger man had come out and joined in the fun, plus it gave Reggie the excuse to see him dressed up in a costume. Never a bad thing.
"About the same," Jason admitted with a slight grin. Seeing the people in the costumes was most definitely one of the best things about having come tonight. The other, of course, was Reggie's company. He debated for a moment about whether or not to admit to that, but then decided, why the hell not? "Although I will admit, I probably wouldn't have come if you hadn't seemed so interested when they announced it."
Well, it was certainly nice that he was admitting it, wasn't it? Reggie grinned when Jason said that he had mostly come because he had wanted to. "Well, I'm tickled pink that you did come, because then I wouldn't have finally of gotten to see you in your firefighter uniform," he remarked, looking him over again. "Although I doubt that's quite regulation uniform." He doubted it highly, mainly because people would be setting fires just to see Jason show up.
"Not quite," Jason agreed, grinning back in amusement. "I know I don't want to test out how flame retardant this is. Still..." his grin slipped into a smirk as he watched the other man, "if it gets this sort of reaction from you, I guess I can deal with it not quite being regulation."
"I don't really want you testing how flame retardant that is, either," Reggie said with a laugh. As long as things stayed relatively calm this evening, he really shouldn't have to, though. Then again, if things went back, it was nice to know that there was a sexy fireman about to save him, right? "Glad you can handle it on my account, though."
"I promise not to throw myself on any candles then," Jason said with a laugh. He figured as long as no one had any sort of malicious plans they were planning on enacting tonight, candles were probably about the biggest fire threat they had to worry about. He knew that the comment had likely left him open for comments from Reggie involving throwing himself at other things, so he went ahead and cut off that possible line of thought - for now, at least, because it might be fun to play with later - by asking, "Now see, what I'm curious about, is what made you decide on that particular costume?" Because it was more than simply the fact that those pants looked very good on him. Well... Probably. With Reggie, there was no telling.
