Jason and Reggie
Despite what Jae had suggested earlier, Jason had decided against the whole hot fireman angle. But a fireman... That he had done, partially because the idea amused him, and he thought it would amuse Reggie as well, but partially because it was almost comforting. It was something he was used to, and given the fact that he had never actually gone to something like this before, the idea of that familiarity had been something he had appreciated. It helped that the people running this place had clearly spared no expense with the costumes, and, unlike the cheap imitations sold at costume stores, they had provided something that was actually fairly close to what he had used when he had actually been working. It wasn't quite as heavy, and probably wouldn't do too much to protect against fire, but it was close enough that even he could appreciate it, although he had chosen to forgo the helmet, because he knew he would get tired of wearing it and he didn't want to get stuck having to carry it. His hair was spiked in its normal manner but for once, he had left off the leather bracelet he normally wore to cover the burn marks on his wrist, the edges of it just peaking past the bottom of his jacket sleeve, figuring that they just added to the costume. Jason hadn't been able to find a mask he liked, so instead, he had used makeup - which was another first for him - to create a mask around his eyes that was reminiscent of the ash and soot smudges that always seemed to find themselves under their masks. In all, he was actually pretty proud of the end effect.
Which just left one thing: finding Reggie. Jason hadn't actually talked to Reggie about this, but the other man had seemed excited about the whole thing in the announcement post. The only problem was, he didn't have any idea what the other man would be wearing. So he headed to the bar first, got himself a Jack and Coke, and started to wander through the crowd, keeping an ear out for the distinctive British accent.
When Reggie had found out about the Masquerade Ball idea, he had nearly lost his mind with glee. Now, he wasn't one that normally ran around in glitter and whatnot, but he certainly wasn't afraid to be seen in anything of the sort. It seemed that the administrators had realized the same about him, because his outfit was...well, downright gaudy. He'd loved it as soon as he had seen it and nabbed it, though. It was actually something that he thought he would have seen in some period piece movie about Louis XIV of France, but he supposed that he was one of the couple of guys that would have worn such a thing, so they left one in his size. He had a tri-corner hat, fluffy pirate shirt (as he liked to call them), white silk jacket and matching vest with gold trim, and white breeches with matching tights. He was certain he was going to get this thing horribly stained before the night was over with. Whose bright idea was it to put him in all this white?
The part that he enjoyed the most, though, was his mask. Yes, he had found a golden mask that stood out with glittery sparkles on it. If anyone asked him, he'd just say that real men wear glitter and tell them to bugger off if they didn't like it. He would be more than happy to find Jason, but the tricky part was how. Unlike himself, he didn't have the accent to pick up on with Jason. Singing softly to himself, he helped himself to a drink at the bar. What, it was a party, right?
Taking a sip of his drink, Jason finished his circle around the floor before ending up back at the bar. Stopping, he might have stared, just a little. It only took him a moment to realize the person dressed in white and glitter and looking like the king of France - or at least, the way movies like The Three Musketeers and The Man in the Iron Mask made the king of France look - was Reggie. The over the top look wasn't really his thing, but he shouldn't be surprised that Reggie had chosen that route, and honestly, the man made it work for him. All that white made his dark hair and eyes stand out, and he definitely liked what those pants and those tights were doing for the other man.
