Adam had just barely caught Kyle leaving the dancefloor. And he almost went after him, taking a few steps and but stopped himself when he saw Zach follow him in the direction of Kyle’s room. And then Zach didn’t come back. Adam figured he knew how that story ended. He’d told Ru he needed another drink and went to the bar. Ru had wandered off, which was fine. He’d focused on finishing a drink and starting in on another before Ru was wandering back his way.
She walked up, and smiled at him. "Hey." she greeted. "What's up now?" she asked, not asking what was wrong, just what they were doing next. She stepped close to him, watching his eyes, focus entirely on him.
“Zach left with Kyle and neither one of them came back.” Adam took a big gulp of his drink, trying to drown out the shakes. “‘Cause apparently Kyle just likes scrawny weird dudes.” He wanted to throw up, or hit something.
God, you sound like a whiney bitch. No wonder your guy left with someone else. Went through Ru's mind, but she didn't say it. She was just aware that Adam seemed to be one of those people who whined a ton and pined, and sat back and did fuck all. It wasn't a great combination of personality traits. Thankfully for her, she was looking for sparks and would get them, she was guessing. Plus he was still cute, a great kisser, and she was still more than cool with going back to any room with a bed with him tonight. "Maybe he does. Sometimes you just got to let someone go, y'know?" she said. "I'll offer up distraction for you, if you'd rather not be thinking about that all night." she said with a smile.
Adam was completely unaware of how he sounded. It sounded more annoyed in his head than whining because he was angry. And he couldn’t do a damn thing about it because that would just piss Kyle off. They were friends. And apparently Adam was the bad guy because he wanted more. Frowning at himself he looked down at his drink then looked at her, confused. “What kind of distraction?” Not thinking about whatever they were doing that he wasn’t doing sounded like a blast.
"We could get out of here. Pick up where we left off." she suggested. "Your room, mine...whichever." she told him.
He should have guessed that. There was a moment where he considered it, weighing options, but if Kyle was...why couldn’t he? Shouldn’t he? “Where did we leave off again?’ he asked, though he was starting to tease.
Ru grinned and stepped closer, brushing a kiss across his lips. "Somewhere about here." she told him, voice coy. "Who's room is closer?"
Did he say yes? Did it matter? “Mine’s upstairs,” he said pointing towards where his room was. “Yours?”
Ru pointed to her room, right off the courtyard there on the ground floor. She started to head there, looking over her shoulder at him. "Coming?" she asked.
Adam hesitated then finished off his drink and grabbed the sword and shield Kyle had made him before following after her. “Of course.”
