Wren was inexplicably nervous. She wasn’t positive why, and wasn’t bothering to try and pinpoint it, but she was. Charlie would be here any moment. She adjusted the tiara Kyle had made for her again, and eyed herself in the mirror critically. The white corset top was very pretty, she liked it. It was just so very much not her. Which was the point, tonight. Still, her shoulders were exposed, and the corset really...pushed up an prominently displayed other parts of her anatomy which were usually understated a whole lot more. The long, flowing skirt was more her, but fit her better than most of her clothes.
She’d even done a slight touch of make up, focusing mainly on getting her eyes to stand out. She thought she succeeded, though she eyed the job again to be sure it wasn’t doing anything stupid like melting or...she didn’t know.
She paced again, wondering if she should go quickly find something else, when there was a knock on her door. Oh dear. She drew in a deep breath, held it for a second, then let it out in a rush. She could do this.
Walking over to the door, she opened it up, with a smile and everything.
Charlie realised the moment that he saw her that, even knowing she was going dressed as a princess, he had no clue what to expect. He also realised that she had exceeded his wildest dreams. “...Wow. You look great. Really, fabulous. Amazing, even,” he babbled, trying to come up with a compliment that was anywhere near good enough. His own costume was okay, he thought. He didn’t know much about how to pick something, but the remit of ‘prince’ was a fairly easy one. He’s kept to black, not feeling comfortable in garish colours. But there were some rich fabrics in there, silks and velvets. And some leather. He’d thought it looked pretty regal, anyhow. Plus, he had this cloak thing that draped off of one shoulder, and a sword. He’d added a plain black mask, just for appearances sake.
That was a reaction Wren was thinking she would take to the grave. That was pretty much exactly what she wanted. She wanted to be pretty, and from the look in Charlie's eyes, she'd achieved that. A smile lit her lips as she stepped closer, looking him over too, blinking as she quite clearly was very, very happy with his look too. He looked dark but regal and she really loved that take on the concept of 'prince'. It was perfect, in her estimation. "Thank you!" she said, clearly pleased. "You look great too! I love it!" she said, enthusiastic. She twirled a little stepping into him as she got closer. "We're almost a little like Persephone and Hades. All dark and light." she said, her mind immediately connecting that.
