Giving what he hoped was a reassuring squeeze around Rusty's shoulders at the younger man's outburst, Jim found his mood souring further at Pippa's provocation and along with it his expression. Despite a self-admitted fool hardiness, he didn't actively go looking for trouble and genuinely disliked confrontation so he didn't rise to the bait. Instead he said, "How right you are, we can just leave can't we?" and gently nudged Rusty away from the woman in the direction of his original destination. "And you mau have a point but given that people have a way of disappearing round these parts, perhaps we aren't as stuck as you'd like to think."
