Date Night With Rocky Balboa Characters: Jason and Reggie Setting: Jason's room, night
When he had asked Reggie to come over, it had been simply from a desire to spend some time with the other man, and watch a movie he liked with someone else who liked it. It had been a fairly simple and uncomplicated request. It wasn't until later, when Jason had been verifying that yes, they could get movies on their computers, that he had realized that the whole thing could be seen as a date. Which had made him wonder how Reggie saw this. Because he had no issues with this being a date - if he was being honest with himself, sort of even preferred it - but... It was always easier when both parties involved were on the same page. Still, there was no point in worrying about that now; it would just stress him out. So rather than wasting time worrying about the semantics of the whole thing, he was simply looking forward to spending time with Reggie and enjoying a good movie.
He had gone over to the kitchen and raided some of the snacks there. He didn't know if any of it would be eaten, but if not, he could take them back. With little else to do as he waited, Jason had swung by the library. Before he had gotten arrested, he hadn't done a lot of reading, not because he didn't enjoy it, but simply because he didn't generally have the attention span to do it for long stretches of time. He still didn't, but at least here, it was something to do, a way to pass time. And The Three Musketeers had been one of the only classics he had ever been able to make himself sit down and read, had been a favorite when he was in high school, so he had grabbed that one when he saw it. It would keep him distracted, so he wasn't focusing too much on waiting for Reggie. So once he was back in his room and ready, with nothing to do but wait, he got comfortable on the couch and started to read.
It had occurred to Reggie that this was actually a date as well at some point during the day. once he had finished his drink at the bar, he had headed back to his room, showered, brushed his teeth (he didn't want any lingering alcohol on his breath), and basically put himself together like it was a date. Of course, the idea of being on a date almost scared him, but he was trying to keep himself acting like a semi-normal person rather than a weirdo.
Once he had made himself presentable, he headed over to Jason's room and knocked on the door. He was feeling fidgety tonight (as the drink he had really hadn't done much to calm his nerves), so he was rocking on his feet, from heel to toe, while he waited on Jason to answer.
At the knock on his door, Jason marked his place in the book before setting it aside and making his way over to the door. He took a moment to take a breath before he opened it. Despite any lingering uncertainty about this whole date thing, he couldn't help but relax slightly when he saw Reggie. Nor could he stop his smile, especially when he caught the other man rocking on his heels. "Hey," he greeted the other man before stepping aside to let him in. "How was your day?"
Reggie's own worries melted away as well when he saw the other man. "Hey," he replied quickly. "My day was alright. Had that patrol thing way too early this morning." Even if he was on a regular schedule, Reggie would likely never be a day person. "How was yours?"
"Pretty much the same. Patrolled with a girl named Mazie this morning. But other than that..." Jason shrugged, because really, there wasn't much else to tell. Just... another day. "I double checked on the movie thing, so we're good to go there." Once Reggie was in his room, Jason closed the door and, turning, he gave the other man a quick kiss, just because he could. When he pulled away, he couldn't help but grin.
"Sounds like you had a fun old time, too," Reggie joked as he moved out of the way of the door so that Jason could shut it for them to have some privacy. He was very glad to hear that getting the movie wasn't a big deal. At least it made sure that this was still a semblance of a date night. He grinned in surprise when Jason kissed him, laughing a little. "Hello to you, too," he added playfully.
"Loads of fun," Jason agreed with a touch of sarcasm. He hadn't minded it though. It was necessary, and it wasn't like he had anything better to do at two in the morning. Still, that didn't mean it was going to topping any sort of excitement charts any time soon. His smile softened slightly when Reggie laughed in surprise; the other man always looked good, but that sort genuinely happy look on Reggie's face - especially when he was the one putting it there - was kind of becoming one of Jason's favorites. Still, he laughed at Reggie's comment as he moved over towards the computer and couch. "Come on, or we're going to get stuck saying hello all night." Not that that would be a bad thing, by any means.
"You say that as if saying hello that way all night is a bad thing," Reggie said as he let Jason lead him over to the couch where the computer was set up. "We can keep saying hello, how do you do...exchanging all sorts of pleasantries with kissing." Yeah, he was just mostly being silly, but he was having fun, and he really wouldn't hate getting at least a few more before the movie started.
"It's not a bad thing," Jason clarified with a grin. "But I don't see why we need to use exchanging pleasantries as an excuse." Partially to make his point, but mostly because, despite what he had been saying, he really did want to kiss Reggie again, Jason leaned over to kiss the other man again. This time, it wasn't a quick kiss either, but a slow, gentle one. Smirking when he finally pulled back, Jason couldn't help but add, "See? Works just as well without saying hello again.
"Didn't say that it was an excuse. Just said that it was fun," Reggie said with a grin. When Jason leaned in and kissed him again, he had to stop himself from moaning loudly when Jason kissed him again. He wasn't sure quite what about Jason's kisses made him go weak n the knees like a teenage girl, but he wasn't about to knock it right now. "...Right. Don't need to say hello again for that," he said, having to fight the urge to just...shove Jason against the wall and kiss him again and just forget the idea of watching the damn movie tonight. That kind of defeated the idea of a 'date,' though, didn't it? "What were we supposed to do tonight again? You keep kissing me like that and I'm gonna start forgetting stuff even more," he teased.
Grinning and laughing, Jason shook his head. "Can't have that, can we? Guess we'll have to stick to watching Rocky instead, then," he teased. Flashing a smile over in Reggie's direction, he moved over to the computer to bring up the movie. Despite what he said, he sort of figured that more kissing was probably going to figure into the night, not that he had a problem with that. Sort of the opposite, actually. But for now, this was fun too.
"Hey, don't mind forgetting some things," Reggie said quickly, laughing. He knew that Jason was kidding, thankfully. Still, they should at least follow some of the pretense of the date, right? That meant doing things like actually settling into the couch, which Reggie did while he waited for Jason to get the movie queued up.
Laughing and nodding, Jason had to say he understood that sentiment. "Hey, I think we all have a few things we'd like to forget." As the familiar opening trumpet notes began and the title scrolled across the screen, Jason moved over to the couch, taking a seat beside Reggie. After a quick moment of internal debate, he shifted closer, leaning against the other man. Hell, he figured he liked the physical contact, and Reggie generally did as well, so why not?
Well, that was definitely true, but sometimes Reggie figured that he had forgotten some things for a good reason. From what he could remember, it wasn't like his past was anything to write home about. Well, if he would ever write home to his family, which he'd never, ever do. When Jason leaned against him on the couch, he lifted up his arm and put it around Jason's shoulders. Yes, Reggie very much liked the physical contact. He was a naturally affectionate person, it seemed.
Grinning slightly to himself, Jason settled in to watch the movie. Really, out of everything he had expected after he had been arrested, finding himself in his particular situation - or any part of it, for that matter - was probably about the last thing he had expected. He hadn't expected to have his own room. Hadn't expected to be able to use the computer in his room to watch a movie of his choosing. And he certainly hadn't expected to find someone that he trusted enough to relax around, much less one that he liked as more than just a friend. Okay, if he was honest, even just friend had been beyond his expectations of prison. It made him glad, despite all the questionable things going on in this place, that he had ended up here. As the movie continued, Jason pressed a kiss to the underside of Reggie's jaw, since it was one of the few things he could reach without moving.
Reggie certainly hadn't expected anything like this to happen when he came to prison, either. When he came here, he knew even less what to expect from anything. He'd never even HEARD of a place like this, after all. However, he was very, very glad that he had met Jason. He had no idea where this relationship was going to take him, but at least he knew it would be a hell of a ride. When he felt Jason's lips press against his jaw, he grinned, adjusting slightly and looking down at him, a rare occurrence for him. "We're barely in the beginning of the movie," he teased.
That... hadn't exactly been Jason's intention when he had kissed Reggie. He hadn't been trying to distract him or anything, he had just been thinking and well, he had wanted to. Still, he knew Reggie was just teasing him, so he grinned as he responded, "If that's all it takes to distract you from something, we should probably talk about your attention span."
Well, it was pretty obvious that Reggie had something of a short attention span, especially when it came to how easily Jason could distract him from, well, the better part of everything. That was something that he did NOT mind, though. "Hmm...probably not the worst thing to talk about then," he admitted with a bit of a smile. "Kind of hard to focus on anything when I'm around you, though."
"I'll take that as a compliment," Jason said, grinning to himself as he leaned back against Reggie. It hadn't quite been the response he had expected, but he'd be lying if he said he wasn't pleased to hear it. He was, however, a little surprised. Not for any particular reason, just... Well, he didn't know of too many people who would say things like that, at least not unprompted. "But just for the record, you're not exactly good for my concentration either."
"You should," Reggie replied playfully, tightening his hold around Jason when he leaned back against him. And Reggie was nothing if not honest with people. For someone that ended up in jail for, among other things, being a thief, he didn't really lie all too often. Frankly, it didn't usually occur to him to do so. "And I'll definitely be taking that as a compliment," he said. Hey, it was impressive to pretty much destroy someone's concentration by your mere presence, OK?
"Good, because it was meant as one," Jason assured him. Turning most of his attention back to the movie, he let himself relax against the other man. For a long time, he simply let himself enjoy watching one of his favorite movies, although it was impossible to not also be aware of Reggie as well. He could feel the older man breathing, could feel it every time he so much as shifted, but rather than bother him, it was actually sort of relaxing. Hell, if anything, this was probably the longest he had gone without getting fidgety in a very long time.
Reggie was very happy to hear that. He was kind of a hyper individual as well, but he was able to relax a lot more around Jason as well, and was really glad about that. He usually had a hard time sitting through movies, but with Jason by his side, he really had no want or need to ever get up and move again. With his arm around Jason's shoulders, he started to absently draw little circles with his thumb at the top of Jason's arm, not even quite realizing what he was doing.
The motion of Reggie's thumb making circles on his arm was very distracting. Granted, considering Jason could probably recite most of the movie from memory, it wasn't a big deal, but... At the same time, it was, because he couldn't simply take his mind off of it either. It caught his attention, and he found himself watching for several moments as Reggie's thumb continued to moved over his arm. Finally though, he couldn't help himself any longer and he caught Reggie by the wrist, stopping the movement of his fingers. Impulsively, Jason brought Reggie's arm up and pressed a quick kiss to the inside of his wrist before looking over at the other man. "Now who's being distracting?" he asked, voice teasing as he grinned up at Reggie.
Reggie hadn't actually meant to be a distraction from the movie, but he wasn't exactly not proud of the fact that he had pulled that off, either. He got a kick out of it, actually. He grinned at Jason when he stopped his hand and pressed his lips against his skin. "And proud of it," he admitted with a smirk. He just looked so smug about it as well, too. He then decided to be a little impulsive as well, leaning down and pressing his lips against Jason's for a kiss.
Even as he rolled his eyes at the downright smug look on Reggie's face, not to mention the tone of his voice, Jason couldn't help but grin in response to it. He was still smiling when Reggie kissed him, and it didn't go away afterwards either. "Well, now I think you're doing it on purpose," he teased before responding with another kiss, a better one this time now that his grin was under control.
If Reggie could take a picture of that grin, he'd likely keep a print of it in his pocket at all times so that he could use it whenever he wasn't feeling all that great. "Probably am," he admitted, responding to the next kiss as well, forgetting that they were supposed to be watching a movie and having something resembling a date, even though most dates did have making out in them.
"You know, if I hadn't seen this movie before, I might be a little annoyed by your ability to distract me," Jason said with a laugh. Pulling back slightly, he shifted so he wasn't having to lean up to kiss Reggie anymore, because it had been a little weird not being taller than him. Of course, he wasn't above taking advantage of the new position to gently pull Reggie closer, curling his fingers around his biceps as he leaned down - yeah, that was much better - for another kiss.
"Part of why I know I can get away with it," Reggie admitted. He shifted along with Jason, as he honestly wasn't quite used to being the one to lean down for a kiss, either, especially with a man. Reggie had always been a short guy, shortest of them all usually, so he was used to it. He leaned in, reaching his hands up and resting them up against Jason's chest, one of them starting to grip his shirt as he deepened the kiss.
Okay, so really, Jason wasn't surprised about the turn things had taken. Actually, if anything, he was surprised that it had taken this long. Granted, it wasn't why he had invited him, and he would have been okay if it hadn't happened, but he couldn't say he wasn't enjoying this as well. When the two of them finally broke apart, he grinned. "Only part? What? Were you assuming that the fact that I kind of like you would cover the rest of it?" Jason asked, voice low and teasing. "Or were you just going to kiss me until I forgot that I was annoyed?" Moving closer to the other man, he curled his other hand around Reggie's hip and pressed first a quick kiss to his lips, followed by a second, deeper one.
It really was amazing that they hadn't gotten distracted from the movie until now. Even though he could hear it going in the background, Reggie was now paying it no mind. "Well, I was thinking a little of column A and a little of column B," he pointed out, grinning a bit. "I especially like the second idea." He let out a low groan when he felt Jason's hand curl around his hip, enjoying the contact as they deepened the kiss. The hand that wasn't gripping Jason's shirt reached around and cupped the back of his neck, drawing little swirl patterns across the skin back there.
Jason huffed out a laugh against Reggie's lips. "You would. Do I need to pretend to be annoyed so you can have a chance to try that out?" Despite his teasing, any chance at pretending to be annoyed disappeared in the face of the soft noises Reggie was making, because there really was no other way for him to respond to that than with another kiss. As he deepened the kiss, Jason carefully worked his hand underneath Reggie's shirt, so he could stroke his fingers gently over the skin at Reggie's hip.
"You could, or I could just get right to it," Reggie said, his lips against Jason's as he spoke. He just couldn't quite stand to pull himself away for long enough to talk properly, but why would he want to? When he felt Jason's hand snake a little under his shirt, he shivered, not even able to remember the last time he had taken the time to enjoy all the little physical things instead of rushing straight into sex. There might have been someone, but if there was, it was one of those memories missing from Reggie's brain. The hand fisting his shirt finally let go and slid down, wanting a little skin to skin contact as well, working for a way to work his way up Jason's shirt as well..
"Your way works." Jason told Reggie, "because let's face it: pretending to be annoyed just isn't going to happen right now." It was the truth; he sort of doubted his abilities to pretend to not be enjoying this. Hell, he couldn't even bring himself to resist the urge to kiss Reggie again. Jason grinned into the kiss when he felt Reggie's shiver; it would have been hard to miss it given how close they were. He enjoyed this, enjoyed figuring out just how to get Reggie to react. As they kissed, he continued to stroke his fingers across Reggie's hip, curious if the reaction had been a one time thing in response to the new contact, or if he could get him to do it again.
"That's because my way is fantastic," Reggie pointed out to him. He was more than willing to defend that opinion, but it seemed that he wouldn't need to do so. He dragged his fingers over Jason's stomach as they continued to kiss, his own hand winding up on Jason's hip as well before feeling Jason's hand rub his hip again. He couldn't fight back another shiver from coming forth. Was he just extra sensitive tonight? He had no idea, but he was willing to roll with it for now.
Rather than speak, Jason just hummed in agreement, not bothering to break their kiss in favor of talking. Had he been ticklish, Jason probably would have jumped at the feel of Reggie's fingers across his stomach. Instead though, he let out a soft sigh of pleasure at the touch. It wasn't so much that his stomach was particularly sensitive or anything, more just... It had been a long time. And he liked Reggie, liked the second shiver he managed to get out of the other man. So he didn't particularly feel the need to censor himself, just let himself react and relax into the touch as he let his own hands wander over Reggie's body.
Yeah, speaking was pretty much out the window at this point. Reggie was pretty sure that he was far too gone to form coherent sentences at this point, honestly. He did catch that soft sigh, though, unable to hold off a grin when he heard it. He was about ready to start purring when he felt Jason's hands start to roam, honestly. He was very glad that no one was censoring themselves here. Finally, he pulled away just enough to speak, grinning at Jason. "I don't know about you, but I'm starting to think that we're wearing a few too many clothes."
When Reggie spoke, Jason shifted back, grinning slightly. "Fortunately, that is a problem that we can fix." Shifting back a little more, he quickly pulled his t-shirt over his head, dropping off the side of the couch before turning back to Reggie. Still grinning, he couldn't help but ask, "Better?"
"Much better," Reggie purred, reaching for his own shirt and pulling it over his head, tossing it off to the side. Yes, this was something that had definitely needed to happen. He took a second to take in Jason's appearance, not that he expected much of anything less than fantastic, considering how much the man worked out.
Well, Reggie was blessed with some good genes, and did exercise, so he wasn't going to be shabby looking at all. Patience wasn't his own strong suit, either, so as soon as Jason had his hands on him, Reggie's hands were back all over Jason, hands moving his over the other man's chest and arms, meeting his kiss with enthusiasm.
Jason couldn't help but grin when Reggie took his own shirt off. Reggie might have been older than him, but that sure as hell didn't mean he didn't enjoy the view. Kind of far from it, actually. Not wanting to wait any longer to be able to touch - patience had never really been his strong suit - he reached out, running his hands down Reggie's chest and over his sides as he leaned in to give the other man another kiss, reveling in the feel of skin under his hands.
Reggie's enthusiasm was more than a little gratifying. For a moment, he pressed into the touch as they kissed. This time though, when the need for air forced them apart for a moment, Jason pulled back slightly. "You staying here tonight?" he asked, his fingers traced over Reggie's ribs and down to his hip bones as he spoke. He found that he really did want Reggie to stay, but... They had only shared a room once, so he wasn't sure if that was going to happen tonight. Technically, this was supposed to have been a movie night. He'd get over it, of course, if Reggie couldn't, but that didn't change the fact that he wanted him to stay.
Enthusiasm was always gratifying. No one wanted their date to be one sided. Reggie tried to catch his breath as he looked at Jason, a hand reaching up and twirling lightly in his hair. "Long as you'll have me, I was planning to stay," he said playfully. He actually really did want to stay, so he hoped that Jason wouldn't kick him out or anything.
Jason smiled, probably happier than he should have been about something so relatively minor. He turned slightly into the feel of Reggie's fingers in his hair and pressed a kiss to Reggie's wrist. "Good," he said, sounding pleased. It wasn't much, but it was better than admitting just how much he had hoped Reggie would stay.
Reggie was more than happy to spend the night. As much as the idea scared a part of him, another part wouldn't entirely object to staying every night, but it might take horses to drag that out of him. "Always happy to please," he replied, letting his fingers trail slowly down Jason's face.
Jason wasn't sure what he could say to that without sounding terribly corny, and he wasn't quite ready to admit just how much he liked Reggie. Still, his smile turned fond at the feel of Reggie's fingers on his face. He let his own fingers trace over Reggie's ribs. "Well, don't worry. You do a good job with that," he said, voice teasing even though he was kind of serious as well.
Reggie wasn't terribly ready to admit just how much he liked Jason, either (to Jason or himself, honestly), so they were in the same boat there. Still, it would likely be obvious to anyone that happened to see them together. "As do you, I might add," he replied, smiling at him.
