There was definitely some rising tempo here, and Wu was delighted to see Carmel join him in it so willingly. Really, if he could stop and think about it, it was the closest he'd come to sharing a moment with someone in years now. But he wasn't thinking about it, was focused on the thrum of his own heartbeat and the glimmer in Carmel's eyes when he glanced over.

Instead of a kick, one of Wu's legs folded at the knee, coming up high and fast and dropping back down solidly as a demonstration before he repeated, speaking with labored breaths. "Anchor your off leg, raise the knee high, as if you strike a man's ribs in close," he instructed, already feeling an ache from the combination of extending one leg and balancing on the other.
