Meg didn't need to be told twice, taking the food and sitting down there on the kitchen floor, her back against the unit behind her. Even one handed, it was all to easy to tear into the breakfast, her fork sliding through the first of the biscuits with ease before spearing the piece with relish. For a couple of minutes she was quiet except for a couple of noises that would have probably made Dominic give the food a dirty look, content to just enjoy it.
It didn't last though and soon she was peering up at Carmel and around a mouth said, out of the blue, "Dom told me you did a number on the guy who assaulted you by the way, just wanted to say right on." Tactful it wasn't but it had earned the woman respect in Meg's eyes and she wanted Carmel to know that now her mind was no longer preoccupied with finding food.
