Leandro folded up his free fist and stuck his chin onto it, regarding Cal with an expression that actually lapsed into seriousness. "So, you never got shit or anything? I'm kind of asking a serious question." Though it might have been too distasteful to touch for others, he had no problem bringing up issues of racism and talking about them, even passionately. It was part of the reason why Leandro so intently read the news. His race was a point of importance to him. He'd learned that, for better or for worse, it made him feel different.
"I mean... I never had the chance to like go to college or whatever, but I was just wondering if it was hard... what it was like. I'm Mexican, so I used to get shit. Kids would be little assholes to me in the home because my English sucked and I said wrong things. Not that that ever changed, heh." He shrugged a little to deflect.
