Who: Reggie and Jason
Setting Reggie's Room, Late Evening
Even though he wasn't much of a loner by nature, Reggie ended up spending most of the day to himself. He had left his door open in case anyone (namely Jason) wanted to drop by, and was actually sitting on his bed, barefoot and just in a pair of jeans and a white wife beater, playing around with the cards that the doctor had given him. He needed to drop by and see Cal soon, see if they had ever released his medical records to him or not. He didn't know exact names or what parts of his brain had taken the most damage, so it was good for Cal to get that stuff, especially if he was the 'official' medical person around here now.
He was getting a little better with the memory practices that he was working with. Mainly he just did the little memory game some did as kids or now on computers, timing himself to see how long it took him to work through it. He did it at least once a night, and his times were getting slowly but surely better. At least he wasn't tossing the cards away in frustration, anymore. If he kept a lighter on him, he would have lit them on fire one night after getting so mad. He was admittedly easily irritated when his memory failed him.
He wondered if he should request better cards for this? Something that might hold his attention better than a regular deck of playing cards? He doubted that the administration would give him nudie cards, though.
After spending the night in the workshop - something that his body had not been terribly happy about - when the power had finally come back, Jason had gone to his room and gone back to sleep, because sleeping on the floor was not exactly restful. After that though, he had mostly sort of done little things. He had done what the management had asked on the computer, even though he hadn't liked it, then gone and worked off his energy on the punching bag in the gym. But mostly, he had spent the day thinking, mostly about the previous night, and wondering if he would see Reggie again that day.
By late that evening though, Jason had had enough with the waiting, so he figured he'd go and find Reggie himself. After taking a shower and getting dressed, grabbing a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt, he pulled on his shoes and set out to start his search. Really, he had done pretty well managing to wait that long. He had never been that good with patience. Which was why the fact that he didn't know exactly which room Reggie was in didn't stop him from going and looking for him. Really, he figured it couldn't be that hard to find it. After all, he had gotten there before the new block had opened up, so that narrowed it down some. Plus, he had seen others coming and going and knew some of the rooms that weren't his. However, it was pure luck that had him finding it. After all, he hadn't counted on the other man having his door open. Jason really hadn't expected it to be thateasy.
"You know, if you leave your door open like this, anyone could wander in," he said, grinning slightly. He might have been fairly sure of his welcome, but still he wasn't going to just walk on in - just in case - so he waited, leaning against the door frame.
Reggie had honestly been hoping for Jason to stop by. If he didn't before too long, he might have gotten up and went to search for him himself. "Good to see you, too," he said, setting the cards in his hand down. He had kind of wanted for himself to be found easily. "Certainly wouldn't mind you to wander in," he offered.
He turned to the side and leaned back against the wall, moving the cards off the bed so that Jason could take a seat on it if he wanted. He wasn't sure if Jason would be comfortable joining him on a bed, even just to sit, but he was going to clear the space for him just in case he WAS comfy with sitting with him. That would be good if he did.
The invitation was obvious, both to come in as well as to have a seat. That was what Jason had been waiting for, or well, at least the invitation to come inside had been. So he pushed himself off the door frame and into Reggie's room. He could have hesitated or gone for the couch, but he decided against it. It wasn't like it was a big deal or anything. Still, he took the time to toe off his shoes before moving over to join Reggie, sitting cross-legged and watching the other man closely.
"Playing solitaire?" he asked, nodding to the cards Reggie had been playing with.
Reggie was very glad that Jason too the invitation to sit with him on the bed. Even if they took things slow (which seemed to be the case, not that he truly minded), he still wanted to be next to the other man. Reggie did like to be in close proximity with other people, especially ones that he liked.
"Memory work," Reggie said, tapping the side of his head. "I've got shit memory because of my accident, and the doc said that any sort of memory work would be good for me."
Ah. Well, that was significantly less fun than solitaire. It was, however, interesting. "Is it helping?" Jason asked, curious. He remembered the other man saying something about his memory problems, so he was interested to know how things were going in regards to improving that.
Significantly less so, but it was something important for him to do. "It actually is some. I'm getting faster at it, anyway." He grinned. "Still, I figure that you didn't drop by to talk about my awfulness at card games that aren't strip poker." Whether he meant that he was good at poker or just enjoyed stripping down was up to Jason's imagination. "What's up?" he asked with a grin.
Jason was glad to hear it. He might not know quite alldetails of what was going on with Reggie's memory, but he figured any improvement was good news.
The comment about strip poker made Jason smile. "Remind me not to play against you then. I've been told I have a terrible poker face." Bluffing wasn't necessarily his strong suit. Which is why when Reggie asked why he was there, he didn't have any answer other than the truth. "Nothing really. Figured I'd come find you though. Especially after last night." Because yeah, he was wondering about the whole thing. They hadn't really done any talking about it.
Reggie had told Jae and Cal completely about his memory issues, and had explained it in pretty good detail to Jason, but that was likely all the people he would explain it to. Cal was the doc, Jason was his friend, and Jae, even though they got off on the wrong foot, he trusted would be more than happy to call him on something that he had forgotten. Something that he certainly needed.
"Having a good poker face is overrated when you know tells," Reggie pointed out. Still, not why they were talking right now, was it? "Glad you did," he admitted, still smiling. Frankly, he was hoping that Jason didn't have a freak out and decide against...whatever this might be.
While he wasn't good at bluffing himself, Jason was decent at knowing when other people were doing so. So he wasn't horrible at poker, but he was willing to bet Reggie would beat him anyway.
Really though, he wasn’t sure what he was supposed to say after that. He hadn't really thought that far ahead. He had just wanted to see Reggie. And maybe he had wanted to see where they stood. The problem was, he wasn't really sure how to ask, at least not in a way that wouldn't be awkward and/or possibly make Reggie wonder about whether or not he was interested, which he was. But he wanted to know, had gone looking for Reggie for that very reason, so... Yeah, he was going to ask anyway.
Reggie couldn't help but fidget a tad when Jason got straight to the issue. It truly wasn't that he didn't want last night to mean anything. He actually did. He just had idea of how to express that in a remotely eloquent manner. "I'm...not entirely sure," he admitted after a moment. "I just know that I wanted to do it for a while and finally had the stones to do it when it was dark." And that was a little embarrassing. He was usually a lot bolder with things. It just...didn't feel like the right way to go with Jason. "I'd like it to be something, though. Do you?"
Jason watched Reggie closely, forcing himself to not look away or anything. For all that he was also uncertain about all of this, he had no intention of showing it. Huh, maybe he wasn't so bad at bluffing after all. But really, it didn't have anything to do with bluffing or trying to look like he wasn't unsure about the whole thing. It was more that he wanted to see Reggie. He hadn't been able to last night, and it had made getting a read on the other man difficult. What was it Reggie had been talking about? Reading people's tells? That was what he was trying to do with Reggie.
He was surprised to see Reggie fidget and look hesitant. Reggie had been the bold one when they had been flirting, so really, he had expected more of the same. But then again, he actually answered the question and asked one of his own, so he clearly wasn't going to be too hesitant about it or anything. And since he really wasn't a fan of lying, and really didn't like the idea of lying to Reggie, he shrugged slightly, even as he watched the other man for his reaction. "Yeah. I'm not sure it's the best idea, but... Yeah. I'm interested in it being more than just last night."
Yeah, Reggie figured that he was giving off more than a few tells right now. Still, right now he was feeling like a nervous teenager than the adult that he was. He was pretty sure that it was going to drive him crazy if he didn't get a read back on Jason. For all his claims that he didn't have a good poker face, he had a pretty good one right now.
Reggie smiled with a bit of relief when Jason said that he was interested in it being more than just last night. "Well, seeing someone in a prison style environment may or may not be the best idea, but what can you do, right?" he asked with a shrug and a bit of a laugh. At least they weren't in an actual prison, thankfully.
Despite himself, Jason couldn't help but smile back at Reggie. At least the other man understood what he had meant about not being sure this was a good idea. Still, it was hard not to react to Reggie's smile.
"So, I take it, your opinion is to do it anyway?" he asked, unable to keep a slightly fond tone out of his voice.
Reggie nodded. "I'm not exactly known for my forethought, though," he reminded Jason. Not that he was trying to talk Jason out of it or anything, just the opposite. He was just admitting that if Jason wanted to put any sort of brake on this, it wasn't going to be Reggie that was going to be doing it.
Jason grinned slightly, despite himself. Yeah, he hadn't forgotten about that. But... It was sort of nice to hear that Reggie wasn't exactly having reservations about the whole thing. Yeah, there was still that little voice telling him this was a bad idea - after almost three years in prison, it was going to take longer than one night to get rid of - but... In this case, he was going to ignore it.
"See, this... This it's what I was talking about. Bad influence. Yet, I still can't bring myself to care," Jason said, voice teasing as he grinned at Reggie.
Reggie started laughing when Jason said something about him being a bad influence. Yeah, he kind of was, but in this ONE case, he was kind of in the right in the situation. Not the most ideal of places to meet, but they couldn't both keep themselves closed off forever.
"You shouldn't care," Reggie said, scooting closer to him. "At least with me, it'll be a hell of a ride." He leaned back against the wall.
Reggie's laugh made Jason's grin turn into a full-blown smile. The other man had a point; he had no doubt that it would be a hell of a ride. But he couldn't quite bring himself to mind. Actually, if anything, he was maybe looking forward to it. Just a little. Still, the scooting closer really wasn't that subtle, and it was kind of hard to resist now that things were kind of cleared up, plus Reggie looked good when he laughed. So Jason took advantage of the fact that he could actually see this time to lean over and kiss the other man.
Reggie kept grinning when Jason leaned in, leaning in slightly as well and meeting Jason's lips with his own. He had to admit that, while first kisses were exciting, it was much nicer to actually be able to see the person that he was kissing, especially if it was Jason. He had felt an odd kinship with the younger man ever since they first met, and he was very glad to find that Jason seemed to feel the same.
"So..." Jason drawled out as they broke apart, grinning because he couldn't quite help it. "Better or worse now that the lights are on?" Personally, he'd have to say better because he was enjoying actually being able to see Reggie's reactions. Although, he certainly wasn't going to complain about last night's black out; not since this might not have happened otherwise.
"I would have to say definitely better," Reggie told him, grinning back at him. "I kind of like seeing your face when I kiss you." He'd like to see his face during other things as well, but he was willing to take things slow for once, even if it felt like he might explode from it.
Even though he hadn't really expected anything different - and hell, his thoughts were pretty much along the same line - Jason found himself torn between blushing and smirking at Reggie's comment. Really, he didn't know what to say to that. He didn't know how to ask his other question either, because asking Okay, so now what? sounded too much like a teenager - worse, a teenage girl - for his tastes. So, instead of trying to verbalize his question in a way that wouldn't sounded so stupid, he didn't bother, kissing Reggie again instead. It was a whole lot more enjoyable than trying to work through his other questions.
Reggie had to admit that he liked the idea of making Jason blush a little. The man's face lit up in all sorts of interesting ways when he did that, and it was just far too nice to pass up doing. Reggie didn't realize that he and Jason were having some of the same sorts of questions filling their heads, but Reggie honestly feared a little bit at admitting that he had no IDEA how to function normally in anything resembling a 'relationship' and had no idea how to put questions that popped up in his head. Still, he had to agree that kissing Jason was better than trying to form questions. He groaned a little bit as they kissed again, trying to find a way to move closer to the other man.
Making Reggie make those sorts of sounds more often, Jason quickly decided, was going to be a goal of his. Maybe not at that exact moment - although, if it did, he wasn't going to complain - but in the future? Definitely a priority. It might have had something to do with the fact that he hadn't been with anyone in over three years (that might have had something to do with it, but really, it was mostly just Reggie) but as much as he was enjoying seeing Reggie this time around, he really liked hearing him as well. However, despite being distracted the way he was, it wasn't difficult to figure out what Reggie wanted, so he shifted slightly to allow for more contact. Of course, just because they could see each other didn't mean there wasn't still some awkwardness. There generally was, at first, but Jason knew that would fade given time, and a chance for them to familiarize themselves with each other. He wasn't worried; this figuring each other out part was exciting too, even if it was in a different way.
It hadn't been as long for Reggie, at least not for sex in general, but he hadn't touched another man since before he went to prison. Any sort of bisexuality sensed in prison was just a good way to paint a gigantic target on your back. Nothing that he had wanted to do, honestly. Still, that didn't matter now, did it? As messed up as this place could seemingly be, he still felt a good bit safer here than in a regular prison. He had let his guard down a lot here, frankly.
When Jason shifted around, Reggie scooted closer, reaching out and resting a hand on the other man's shoulder. He was doing his best to try and take things a little on the slow side, since he knew that Jason had a few reservations about this. It was probably the main thing keeping him from just pushing Jason down on the bed, although he had a few of his own...well, reservations was the wrong word. He was more worried about himself finding a way to screw things up. He'd rather enjoy himself than think on things too much, though. His fingers trailed up from Jason's shoulder, threading gently through his hair.
Jason couldn't help but lean slightly into the touch, enjoying the feel of Reggie's fingers in his hair. He had meant what he had said to Reggie earlier, in one of their first talks, that he was kind of a go-with-the-flow sort of guy. If Reggie really wanted more, then he certainly wasn't going to protest. But... he really wasn't in a hurry, so he wasn't going to push the issue himself. Jason dropped one hand down to settle on Reggie's hip and ran his other hand over Reggie's collarbone and up to his shoulder before he curled his fingers gently around the back of Reggie's neck. Besides, he was sort of enjoying simply taking the time to explore.
It actually was fun to take his time and explore for a change. Usually, Reggie's mind had been so clouded that he could barely think straight when he was with another person, but tonight his thoughts were crystal clear. He couldn't resist letting out a happy little sigh as he felt Jason's hands move a little bit over him as well. He kept his fingers in Jason's hair as well, alternating between running his fingers through it and just drawing little circular patterns on the other man's scalp with the rough pads of his digits.
Really, given some of their previous talks, Jason was a little surprised by Reggie's sigh. Or rather, not so much that, as the fact that he figured that meant that Reggie had no real desire to push this further than this... curious exploration and lazy trading of kisses. At least not yet. Still, rather than focusing on that, he paid more attention to the fact that he figured the sound was a pretty good indication that Reggie was enjoying himself. So Reggie was a tactile person, huh? He kind of liked that, and allowed his one hand to slide around to the side of Reggie's neck, gently stroking his thumb over the skin there as he kissed Reggie again, a little deeper this time.
Reggie was a little surprised himself that he wasn't pushing this faster than he was. Then again, he truly couldn't remember the last time he had remotely gotten to know a person before doing anything with them. He supposed that it was kind of sad, but the idea had never occurred to him before. That was likely why he wasn't completely jumping all over Jason.
And yes, Reggie was a very tactile person. He absolutely loved to touch and be touched. When he felt Jason's thumb move across his skin, he nipped lightly at Jason's bottom lip with his teeth, grinning as Jason deepened the kiss.
Jason couldn't help but smile slightly into their kiss at Reggie's playful nip. He was liking this side of Reggie. Still, he figured the move deserved a little bit of retaliation at least. For a second, he considered taking advantage of his height advantage, as well as the element of surprise to put Reggie on his back on the bed (Reggie had joked about that during that one little sparring match they had had) but decided against it. He was enjoying this too much to jump to that too quickly. Still, even though he wasn't going to escalate it things that quickly, he did tighten his grip slightly on Reggie's hip, using the leverage to pull the other man a little closer, before bringing that hand up with the other one to gently bracket Reggie's face. The gentleness of his touch belied the kiss that followed though, because while not really rough, it wasn't quite the slow, exploratory kisses they had been sharing up until then.
If Jason had used his leverage to push him down on the bed, Reggie would have just laughed. Hell, he would have enjoyed the fuck out of it as well. Still, what they were doing was pretty damn fantastic, too. They're kiss wasn't turning quite rough yet, but it was definitely getting interesting. Now that he was pretty much pressed up against Jason, he raised up his other hand, trailing it up Jason's arm before sliding it around his back, holding onto him as his grip tightened slightly in his hair as well. Yeah, he was getting quite *excited* about all of this.
As gratifying as it was, it was the proof of just how much that Reggie was getting into this that made Jason realize that there was one thing that should probably be taken care of right then. Because he knew that as much as he didn't want to have to pull away from Reggie right now, it would be even harder later, no matter what they ended up doing. He pressed a short kiss to Reggie's lips in a pre-emptive apology.
Backing up slightly, Jason grinned apologetically. "I really hate to do this but... Could you give me a second?" He probably could have wriggled out of Reggie's embrace, but he didn't want to give the other man the wrong impression here.
It was really excellent. That was why, even with the apology kiss, Reggie was caught off guard when Jason pulled away. It actually took a second for Reggie to relinquish his hold on the other man. He couldn't quite help it. He wanted to hold onto him and keep him in his warm bed, OK?
He laughed when he realized what Jason was doing, though. "I completely forgot about the door," he said with another apologetic laugh. Hell, he didn't really care about anyone catching them, but he understood why Jason might want a little more privacy than an open door would provide.
Jason smiled when Reggie laughed, pushing himself off the bed. From there, it only took a few seconds to close the door and lock it. That taken care of, he walked back over to the bed, explaining as he did so, "Figured it be easier to do it now. Probably wouldn't want to later." Well, okay so that wasn't quite right. More like... Would want to, but wouldn't want to have to get up to do it. Still, he was glad that Reggie had understood what he was doing. Once he was close enough, pressed another kiss to the man’s lips.
Reggie grinned up at Jason as the other man got up and fixed their 'open door' problem. He really should have thought of that himself, if only for Jason's benefit, but it had completely slipped his mind. "Wouldn't want to break apart and do it, you mean," he said, kissing him back before laying back on the bed. "Now why don't you join me on this bed again already," he suggested, grinning as he beckoned the other man with a finger.
Jason smirked slightly. "Well, since you asked so nicely..." Reggie really did make a handsome picture, sprawled back on the bed, grinning and beckoning. It would have been hard to deny the request, even if he had wanted to. Which, by the way, he didn't. So it was easy to let himself follow Reggie, moving over him and pressing close for another kiss.
Reggie happened to know that he made a fabulous picture on a bed and beckoning. It was how he had gotten his way more than once before. "Oh I'm always going to ask nicely," he said playfully, reaching over and pulling Jason closer so that his fingers could go back into that delightful hair again. He had to admit that it was much nicer to be pressed up against him this way rather than sitting up.
Jason had no doubt that Reggie knew exactly what he was doing, looking like that. But it was difficult to argue with the results. He smiled as he felt Reggie's fingers card through his hair. "Keep that up, and I'm going to think you like my hair," Jason teased. But he wasn't complaining, far from it. He let himself press slightly into the touch before moving to kiss him again. He wasn't pinning Reggie down, not quite, because he didn't know if Reggie was one of those people that would feel trapped like that, but that didn't stop him from seeking as much physical contact between the two of them as possible.
"And what if I do like your hair?" Reggie asked playfully, grinning into another kiss. Actually, he liked every bit of Jason's body that he'd seen, hair included. Plus, it was nice and soft, so who was he to complain? When Jason moved a little more on top of him, he didn't mind in the least. Even though he hadn't exactly known Jason for long, he trusted him enough to pin him if he wanted to. Plus, being pinned was a bit of fun! He'd gotten to see that a bit when they sparred, after all.
Jason laughed. "Then you should have seen me in high school. It was about... shoulder length, I guess. And curly." He considered that for a second, before shaking his head. "Actually, scratch that. It's probably a good thing you didn't." He hadn't cared then, but now? Well, the fact that his hair got curly when it got long was part of the reason he kept it short. But still, turn about was fair play so this time, as they kissed, he carded his fingers through Reggie's hair for a moment before dropping his hand back down to trail slowly along Reggie's side.
Reggie actually laughed a bit when Jason said that he once had long, curly hair. "You have curly hair? A part of me really wants to see that," he admitted. He wondered if he could wrangle a picture from somewhere or another. He got distracted from that thought when Jason ran his fingers through his hair, moaning a little when Jason moved his fingers over scalp and skin. Yeah, he was easy to distract.
Jason probably would have protested that, because no, Reggie did not need to see his hair when it was curly, but just as Reggie got distracted, so too did Jason. Because really, it was hard to pay too much attention to anything else when Reggie was making those sorts of sounds. While he might not have been ready to direct this towards sex - not tonight anyway - he couldn't help but want to make Reggie moan like that again. It made him wonder where else would elicit a response like that. So he let his hands wonder as they kissed, trying to see if he could get another reaction like that out of Reggie.
Yeah, among other things, Reggie was apparently a noise maker whenever something in particular tickled him the right way. He was more than happy to be experimented on in this way. He was letting his hands wander a bit as well. His fingers brushed over Jason's shoulders before moving slowly down his chest. He could feel his muscles beneath his shirt, and he enjoyed how hard they felt under his fingers.
Grinned slightly, Jason let his fingers skating over Reggie's chest, down his stomach and back up his sides, searching out all the places that could make Reggie react the way he had before. Because he wanted to make sure that Reggie was enjoying this. Hell, he was, but even better than how much he liked this physical contact, was seeing that Reggie did as well. It made it easier to accept this, knowing that this... This was not like most relationships - or rather, the mockery of them - that normally happened in prison. They both wanted to be here, they both wanted this, and as good as all of what they were doing was, that fact just made it even better.
Reggie practically wanted to purr at all the physical contact he was receiving and giving. No, this relationship was going to be nothing like what was normally seen in more regular prison environments; he'd see to that to make sure. The idea of putting that sort of label on them so soon still scared him, but it was kind of exhilarating as well, plus he was still too caught up in the moment to worry about it for long. As Jason's hands explored, so did Reggie's. He glided his fingers over the hardness of the man's stomach and chest, nails leaving ever so slight trails as they then crossed the skin of his arms. It was almost as if he were trying to make a map of his body with his hands, at least what he could reach of it.
Of course, Jason was not really thinking relationship in terms of what most people thought of when the word was used. What happened in prison didn’t deserve that term and this… thing with Reggie was far too new for that. Rather, he was thinking simply in terms of its most basic definition: a connection, association, or involvement. Still, it wasn’t something he would object to with Reggie, not in the future. But any previous thoughts about the matter disappeared as Reggie ran his nails along his arms, causing him to shiver slightly. It wasn’t a feeling he disliked, far from it, but it was just one that he was, after almost three years in prison, relatively unaccustomed to, because he certainly hadn’t allowed anyone else to touch him like this. He probably would have broken the arm of anyone who had tried. However, breaking arms was very definitely not what he wanted to do to Reggie. So instead, he grinned slightly into their kiss, and retaliated in kind, lightly scratching his nails down the back of Reggie’s neck.
Reggie grinned when he felt Jason shiver a bit from the nail contact. He really did like having the ability to get those sorts of reactions out of him. Any sort of fantastic sound or movement he could get was getting filed away, making sure that he remembered how to do it for future reference. He let out a small moan when he felt Jason's nails in the back of his neck, smiling a bit as he pulled his lips a little bit away from Jason so that he could speak. "Stay here with me tonight," he said, eyes studying Jason for a moment. "Nothing required or anything. I'm just not sure I wanna let you go for the night." He hoped that he was making sense and not coming off as weird or anything.
Slightly taken aback by Reggie's request, Jason blinked a couple times, surprised. He hadn't been expecting the question. Hell, he hadn't even really been thinking about tonight at all. For several seconds, he watched Reggie, trying to figure out just what he meant by not wanting to let him go. In the end though, he decided that he didn't really care, because whatever Reggie meant, Jason trusted him, so he wasn't worried. He grinned and answered, "Yeah. Okay," before he pressed a kiss first to Reggie's cheek before moving back to his lips.
Reggie had actually been worried for a second that Jason was going to say no. He hadn't realized that he would surprise the other man with his request. Still, he was quite relieved when Jason finally agreed to stay. "Good," he purred, pressing his lips back against Jason's, more than happy to enjoy the evening together
