Community Rules

This comm is open to anyone to post codes, layouts, resources, tutorials, and requests for help and content. Of course, we do have some rules, so please read through them before jumping in; thank you!

Treat others the way you'd like to be treated. This is not a drama comm, and we expect you guys to be awesome and stay civil. If a situation gets out of hand, please contact a mod, and leave comments intact so we can accurately handle the situation.

Please tag your posts and check out the tagging guide if you have any questions!

■ Very long posts or posts formatted with your own div styling for organization should be behind a cut to save people's f-lists.

Work safe above the cut, please!

■ If posting codes, guides, etc. absolutely do not post content that you did not make. That's stealing, and it's super uncool, bro! If you are posting expanded/edited codes made by yourself using another user's coding as well, please be sure you have their permission (You do not need direct permission if they allow edits to be re-posted in their blanket rules.)
■ Do not post tutorials/links to tutorials that show people how to steal codes from other users. Again: Stealing. Not cool.
When asking for help with something, please check the help tags (help: coding, help: graphics, help: icons, help: layouts, help: other) first to see if your question has already been posted and answered to avoid duplicates.

We do not allow game ads to be posted on this comm since there are so many communities specifically for that already; if you're pimping a game as an addition to a regular post, that's fine. (OK: You post an RP code and mention in the post, oh hey, also I'm running this game! NOT OK: Posts dedicated to game promo.)

We do allow other types of community promos if they are related to RP (icon comms, other types of resource comms, etc.) Just shoot us a comment in our dropbox beforehand and we'll let you know if it's cool to post!

Icon Table Generator

[info]forsythia
[info]rpresources
So, for years I've been using The Icon Table Generator for my comm, but today I discovered that it and the entire rest of the site is down. I tried contacting the creator on LJ, but the journal was last updated in 2015 so I don't imagine anything will come of that other than the shady owners of LJ now having access to my Twitter.

Does anyone have a useful div or table generator for icon communities? Or even a working mirror of this one? Specifically, I need a generator which accepts multiple additions at a time so I don't have to individually add hundreds of icons per batch.

I'm trying to upload a gift set for my bff on her birthday, so please respond ASAP if you have an answer.

Thanks!

Also how did you get the mirror to work cause I was looking at a friends attempt and most of it looks the same (I'm better at hmtl/css than I am with java been years since I did java coding) I'm guessing it's a lack of a SQL database or something?

I saved a copy of the page from Wayback Machine and had to go in and remove every trace of the wbm coding and the analytics from the original site. Then I altered it to have proper credits etc. and no longer link to dead pages and got an account with awardspace, where the original was hosted. Uploaded everything there, fixed the folder name I put the .js files and such in so that the webpage referenced the right things, and apparently that was enough to make it function. The only editing I did was deleting unnecessary scripts, basically; something about the wbm elements breaks the page.

The main reason I shared the mirror link privately is I'm not sure of etiquette for these things, but it's just a random free hosting account that I'll never use for anything else so feel free to share the link with your friend or anyone else in the community who wants it. Or if you want I can send you a .zip file of the altered code and relevant scripts so you or your friend can customize your own mirror.

Good to know and thanks :) That I guess is why I couldn't really see anything different a part from the WBM coding. Still it's super interesting that is all that you needed.

Me either but I figure if you don't claim it as your own then it should be ok

Ikr? I have no clue how or why the coding from WBM broke it, but I noticed the same when I made a back up of the old World of Darkness site, Patman's Pad. Messing with the WBM files made the site coding work where it wouldn't on the live archive.

It is very strange. Like why would it stuff up?

The best I can guess is maybe there's an error in the scripts those sites use and it conflicts with something about the WBM code. I know some site archives work properly, so I doubt the Wayback Machine itself is the issue.

Maybe? I mean I can't think of anything else.
