A Dangerous Twist
What if the Battle of Hogwarts never happened? What if, after the giant fiasco of Gringott’s, Voldemort was able to figure out what was happening in order to get the Diadem of Ravenclaw and beat a hasty retreat with Nagini? What if, five years later, the war is still raging in Britain?
Voldemort is hiding, biding his time in a fortress that is known only to his closest and most devoted followers. There he has kept his last two horcruxes safe and secret, and from there, he rules Wizarding England , asserting his agenda of absolute power over the land. Those who follow him seek to eradicate the last of the muggleborns from Britain and recreate the world in their own pure image. So far, the muggles remain largely unaffected, but everyone knows it’s only a matter of time before they’re wiped out as well.
But there is resistance. The Order of the Phoenix is still fighting strong, smuggling out those they can and planning strikes against the Death Eaters. Harry Potter and his close friends work tirelessly to try and locate and destroy the last horcruxes, so they can finally kill Voldemort and end this war.
And caught in the middle is the ministry. Filled with the neutral, the cowardly, the bureaucrats only after their own power, and spies on both sides, the ministry seems more battleground than ruling body as both sides fight for control.
One thing is clear: the war has to end. But even if and when Voldemort is defeated, what happens then? Where do you begin to rebuild the world? How do you punish the wicked, or restart an economy? How do you begin to heal?

In 2012, the infection begun in London. In 2013, it struck London. By 2014, it spread to the United States.
By 2016, the entire world was deemed a lost cause. Cities that formerly housed hustling and bustling business, bright lights and constant activity are shells of their former selves. Electricity for the masses is a near-lost memory and now the only places that hold electricity are "safe havens" like shelters or churches. There are no more new cars or cushy apartments.
What little freedoms the infected didn't take away, the government destroyed. People deemed "immune," people who didn't turn when bitten, were forced into servitude. Those who had yet to be bitten had the option to help out as well. Immune, and non-immune helpers, were pushed to the brink of exhaustion by the power hungry government, who sat safely in their safe areas.
It's 2019 now, and finally, people started to get tired of the games. A small pocket of resistance, residing in New York City, formulated a plan and have created a true "safe haven" in Sing Sing Correctional Facility. No government, and a true safe haven behind walls that no infected can scale. After six years of oppression, a change has finally begun.

People are strange when you're a stranger...
For the workers of the Freak Show, weird is a relative term. This peculiar group of performers, con-men and artisans travels from city to city, truly living the Bohemian lifestyle. But there's something strange under the surface. Not everyone is quite what they seem. Something old flows through their veins, something even more out of the ordinary than the offbeat jobs they perform. Amongst this family of vagrants and entertainers are people with eerie gifts and unexplainable affinities, a touch of magic that is innate and intuitive. Almost none of the people who possess these otherworldly talents use the term witchcraft to describe their abilities, but the things that hunt them do. The carnival is haunted by nightmare creatures from the bowels of folklore and chased by a group of witch-hunting zealots, and it seems as if no matter how fast they move the Freak Show can never outrun its demons.
The Freak Show is a brand new original character role playing community with a supernatural twist that focuses on the lives of traveling carnival workers and the odd abilities that some of them possess. We are extremely plot-friendly and welcome your most imaginative characters and wildest ideas.
