| epistolium |  | Taking the helm after the hugely popular Headmistress McGonagall retired, Headmaster Heavensbee had to start off the 2023-2024 school year with a bang. He had to distinguish himself in some way, set the tune for how his administration was going to run things. He spent the summer doing research, thinking and planning. What he came up with is what he has deemed the Penpal Project. It is based upon a muggle tradition of exchanging letters with someone you don't know. In an effort to increase House unity, Headmaster Heavensbee has assigned all the students anonymous penpals in other Houses, with whom they will be required to correspond during the year. Some students are curious, some are irritated, but what's clear is that it's going to make for an interesting year. Epistolium is a next-gen, canon-compliant RPG set in 2023, with an emphasis on building CR (due to a combination of optional blurbs, the penpal project, and required storylines, new characters can enter the game with more than six lines ready to play!). Premise Evangeline Henry is your typical American teenager, who seems to have it all. She has two loving parents, great friends, and only a year left of high school. She's lived in the tiny town of Smithfield Island, Maine for all 18 years of her life, and when she graduates, the world will be her oyster.
Except for the fact that it's all fake. For 18 years, Evangeline has been the unknowing star of a 24-hour-a-day reality show broadcast around the world and watched by millions of viewers. Her family and friends are all actors, and Smithfield Island is equipped with thousands of hidden cameras and microphones. Everything is carefully crafted to create an idyllic environment for Evangeline and the best show for all of her fans.
But not everybody is a fan. For every viewer who loves the show with a passion, there's one who believes that it's a cruel form of slavery and manipulation that needs to be stopped immediately. The next year is critical for both sides. With Evie about to graduate high school and wanting to venture out into the world, and the main actors' contracts expiring, tension is building- on the set and off- and the 18th season of Evangeline will change everything. | |
