Crescendo [02 Dec 2011|12:29am] The Game The year is 1981. Voldemort is still at large. The Order is hunting down Horcruxes. Sirius Black isn't in Azkaban. The Potters aren't dead. And The Longbottom's are nowhere near being admitted to St. Mungo's because of those damn Lestranges. Why not? Because we decided to throw canon out the window and re-write the story for ourselves and it's been one Hell of a story so far and it's only going to get better! Over at Crescendo, we believe in letting you, the writer, determine where the plot goes based on character interaction and plots, so literally anything can happen. We believe in giving you the freedom to let things develop naturally, instead of trying to force your characters into a small box to make things work with what happened in the books. We've been open for nearly six months and we don't plan on going anywhere, so come on over, take a seat, and drive the plot a bit to see where you can take us next. Current Events Not only is Voldemort and his loony Death Eaters causing problems for the Wizarding World, but there is a serial killer that is making everyone nervous. Katherine Rosier is doing all that she can so Millicent Bagnold will be recalled as Minister so Voldemort can take over. Alecto Carrow seeks revenge for the murder of her brother, Amycus, at the hands of Mary MacDonald and Marlene McKinnon. Most of the characters are in hiding and hating it, leading them to come up with creative ways to kill Voldemort, not to mention, the Order knows about the Horcruxes thanks to one Regulus Black, and they've already destroyed one all because the Lovegoods are B.A.M.F.'s and they need to find the rest! The Players We're currently seeking dedicated writers who are interested in character development, participating in game-wide plots, changing canon through their actions and interactions, and truly exploring the 'what-ifs' of the HP-Verse that canon ruined for us. Coming Soon Bellatrix Lestrange is going to attempt to kidnap the Minister for Magic and impersonate her, but not to let Voldemort take over, but because she wants to be in charge, clear her name, and finally have the 'right' side in charge. Voldemort on the other hand wants Bellatrix and Rodolphus' child dead, the attention back on himself, and to find out how in the hell these damn babies are supposed to defeat him. Regulus Black is about to be tested in a big way, someone is going to be forced to take the mark, and the serial killer will be revealed! After a failed attempt to kill Alice Longbottom, of course. And poor Marlene McKinnon is about to pop out Severus Snape's child. But in order for these things to be as kick-ass as we want them to be, we need a few characters. Our most wanted characters are: Lily Potter, Xenophilius Lovegood, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Cassidy Longbottom, Michael Brown, and a whole bunch more! Not to mention, poor Regulus really needs him someone to drag him out of that damn closet he's hiding in. What We're About As the hearts of mighty civilizations rose, fell, and their influence shifted westward, so, too, did the divine epicenters of the deities they worshipped. Even the gods, demigods, monsters and mortal heroes fell subject to the same ruin, and were thrust into the cycle of rebirth and placed at the mercies of warring powers older and more powerful than they ever were. Now, each of these ancient seats of power (Asgard, Olympus, Avalon, the Third World, Waset, The Garden of Eden) lies hidden somewhere in the United States, each calling to its respective divinities. The figures themselves, now all born into mortal human bodies, must rediscover these epicenters, and in doing so, uncover their powers, reclaim their ancient seats, and restore their ancient and rightful glories. The path will not be easy, however. The powers they once wielded have been diminished in their human forms, but they are still awesome enough to elicit both wonder and fear from the ordinary citizens around them. Why These Characters Would Be Amazing: The Mulcibers are two generations of a purist family, deeply devoted to the cause, and a bit more than keen on the dark arts - to the point that the youngest Mulciber tortured one of his classmates with his gang of buddies in school in canon. An older generation Mulciber was one of the first Death Eaters, thus in the inner circle. Other than connections to every other Death Eater in the game, the Mulciber family is directly related to one Thorfinn Rowle, whose mother is a Mulciber. Thorfinn would love his cousin or uncle here! You also have one younger sister or cousin also, Melpomene Mulciber, who you can drag along with you in your quest for the horcruxes also! The family that does the Dark Lord's work together stays together. Or however the saying goes. Character Concepts You Can Steal: 1) Older Mulciber could be one of Riddle's pals from their school days - POWER STRUGGLE! 2) Death Eater therapist - someone who can navigate the murky atmosphere of homicide and threats and pie within the other Death Eaters, as well as talk one Thorfinn Rowle down from his overgrown hissy fits of threatening to set people on fire or pelt them with dining utensils. Someone needs to be a mediator! 3) Ministry spies? Journalists? Leaking information from the Ministry to the Death Eaters? The possibilities are endless! PB Suggestions: Anyone! The Immune: A Zombie Apocalypse RPG [02 Dec 2011|08:17pm] October 2018. It's five years after the pandemic began. The infected have taken over the world. They roam the streets like they belong there, clustering in the few places that humans still frequent. Electricity for the masses is a near-lost memory and now the only places that hold electricity are "safe havens" like shelters or churches. There are no more new cars or cushy apartments… right now every day is like a fight for survival. There are small pockets of resistance; miniscule armies of folks called Immune, a government group put together of people who have been bitten but show no effects whatsoever of the virus. After an Immune has been discovered, they're involuntarily recruited to work for the government regardless of what their prior lot in life was, killing infected and supplying the non-Immune with food and things to get through day to day life. New York was once known as one of the greatest cities in the United States. Now it's nothing more than a shadow of its former self; a strong shadow, however, that boasts of some of the most secure safehouses in the country. Here is where the greatest number of Immune reside.
