The. Fruitful. Project. [07 Mar 2009|03:08am] The Fruitful Project Original Character. Future. Arranged Marriage. 17 & Up. In the year 2010 the world was plagued by the full effect of Global Warming. No country was spared and no one could imagine the speed in which it came. Within months entire cities were underwater, drier than deserts, or completely leveled. Thousands died and there was no end in sight. Many lost hope until 2020 when the Eden Project was founded. The Eden Project was a last ditch effort by the human race. Surviving scientists came up with a chemical, a gas called 'Eden' that would hopefully cool the atmosphere enough to put a stop to the catastrophes happening around the world. Slowly but surely the temperature began to drop and the storms slowed. In the time between the beginning of the storms to the launch of the Eden Project, the world population had dropped from nearly seven billion to a little below five. It was another six years before the effect of the 'Eden' chemical was known. It began in 2028. There were suddenly less children being born and by the end of 2029, pregnancies stopped all together. The men and women of the world were now completely sterile. It was soon discovered that the Eden chemical was the cause of the sterilization, that the one thing that had saved the world had also doomed it to an inevitable ending, the population destined to dwindle down to nothing. In 2048 a solution was found The same lab that developed the Eden project has been working for the past nineteen years to reverse the devastating effects without destroying the now near perfect atmosphere of Earth. The Fruitful project was a serum, a cure that reversed the sterilization but only in people below the age of thirty. The Global Government is taking a drastic step to increase the population. The Governments of the world began to administer the serum by administering it to everyone as a vaccine at doctor's appointments. To further insure that the population will continue to grow and to 'usher in a new era of life', a global law has been put into place. A marriage law. The Fruitful Law. Every healthy, non-married person between the ages of nineteen and twenty-nine are to be married, whether by choice or by Government selection. The couple will have a one year period at the most after their marriage to conceive. The Fruitful project is for the betterment of our world. The snow is melting. Soon, men will take their shovels to dig graves and the first casualties of the revolution will be laid to rest in the frontier town of Sedona. Lives have been devastated by a bombing and a train wreck. Ladies have become widows; children have become orphans. But life goes on. Those who have died will soon be out of mind. The shops sell their wares; more people want to own guns these days. Women sell their bodies. The saloons still serve drinks to people who want to forget about the world they live in, the people who used to live in it with them, and the people who still do. Some distance from the graveyard, in the Westonbirt Arboretum, flowers are blooming near the ground these bodies are hidden by. Their beauty will delight hearts that have been bowed by sorrow and fear. But these flowers will be cut and washed and their oils will be condensed and mixed and sold as magic. And the glass bottles they are sold in will become smeared by blood from the hands of the Victorian Company. The revolution has begun. The bodies that were just buried in the newly-thawed earth will be far from the last. This small town will become a battleground. Which side will you be fighting on? And to make matters worse, one of their own was working up a plan that would sacrifice his peers to better himself. As if that weren't enough, someone is out there with malicious intent toward people who are "special". Someone is hunting and rounding up anyone with abilities. No one knows who the hunter is or where the hunter comes from. And no one knows where their peers are going. Will opposing sides find allies in each other to end this menace, or will they do as they always have and serve only themselves and their own purposes? Students continued to feed SeeD with new minds to mould and educate, with Gardens doors remaining open to faces new and old, and the teenage cadets were able to take a moment to enjoy their youth with dances and festivals and social-gatherings. Slowly but surely, it felt as if the world was reverting back to its old rhythm and forgetting the wounds of yesteryear, and organisations continued to provide Balamb Garden with a steady line of clientele, utilising their teams of elite mercenaries by pulling them across-continent as personal soldiers. But now there is change afoot. President Deling II, of the dominating nation known as Galbadia, has declared war on SeeD and its schools, with his eye especially narrowing upon the headquarters of Balamb Garden. In his quest to topple the world, SeeD’s child-soldiers stands as the greatest opposition to the Galbadian army. The choice he offers: assimilate, or be destroyed. How may this alter the young lives of those living within the Garden? Who will stand their ground? Who will be lost? With Elder of the Wizengamot Tiberius Ogden, of Ogden's Old Firewhiskey, sworn in as the new Minister of Magic, the world has been turned on end. Now that Fenrir Greyback has been killed by Auror Athena McGonagall, Minerva's daughter, and Auror-in-Training Harry Potter, and Mafalda Hopkirk has recently been charged with the murder of Former Minister Kingsley Shacklebolt, but that doesn't mean the Wizarding World is safe. While the Ministry is trying to keep the magical world from another all-out war, Draco and Hermione have found a way to coexist and have even started dating, Percy is pursuing his newly-discovered talents in divination, and the Lestrange Brothers have been reunited and have taken Pansy Parkinson on a trip with them.
