“We all imagine ourselves the agents of our destiny, capable of determining our own fate. But have we truly any choice in when we rise? Or when we fall? Or does a force larger than ourselves bid us our direction? Is it evolution that takes us by the hand? Does science point our way? Or is it God who intervenes, keeping us safe?” – Mohinder Suresh {1.02, don’t look back.}

Welcome to Mayberry USA. You've been here before.

Whats that? You've never heard of Mayberry? Well thats just fine and dandy, your here now so cool your heels, take a load off and relax. Dont bother trying to leave, you cant.Your ours now.

Mayberry has everthing you need, theres a town library thats pretty diverse, we even have a brand new state of the art college, amoung other things. Yes sir mayberry is the place to be.

Why are you here? Oh thats easy. You see the gods have grown bored, being ignored and all, so they've set up this entire town, a social experiment one might say. Once your here, you cant leave. Ever.Dont worry though, they've also set up plenty to do,wether its attending the local school and adding a little flavor to our small town, or going to the sockhop with your best gal.

There is... one thing however. I wouldnt advise going at out night. You see theres monsters that come out during that time. No one knows what they are or where they've come from, but if your caught by one, well you may never be seen again, or who knows you may get lucky and they'll just let you go. I wouldnt advise trying to hurt them though, they get real angry about that.

What was I saying? Oh yes, once your here, you can never leave, no matter how hard you beg, aint that a kicker?

Welcome to Mayberry.

You're gonna love it here.

The Gossip Witch - A Post DH Harry Potter RPG [08 Jan 2009|03:45pm]

RULESPOSTINGCHARACTERSCASTWANTEDPBSAPPLICATION

Spotted: PP having lunch with DM-- Is she trying to get her hooks back into her old flame? LB and PtP coming into Madam Primpernelle's with some rather large bags-- Seems their beauty isn't entirely as natural as they claim! HA and SB wearing familiar yellow and black scarfs-- reminiscing about old times, ladies?

It's 2005, and Voldemort has been gone for over six years. People are moving on, and finally living their lives. With some changes, of course. In 2003, Weasleys Wizard Wheezes came out with a brand new, and very popular, product: magical journals through which witches and wizards could keep in constant contact with one another. But with that constant contact came something else. A new mystery that the young magical community both loves and hates.

She calls herself "The Gossip Witch", and no one knows her true identity. All they know is that if there's gossip in the Wizarding community, The Gossip Witch knows it, and she's not afraid to print it. Entries from this unknown source appear in the journals weekly, sometimes even daily; printing everything there is to know about the lives and scandals of former Hogwarts graduates. She may use initials, but just about everyone knows who the rumors are about.

Will your character end up on Gossip Girl's daily dishings? And how will this affect their lives, their relationships, and their emotions? No matter how it plays out, you know you love her...

XOXO,
The Gossip Witch

The Gossip Witch is a post-Deathly Hallows, non-epilogue compliant game that has been open as of December 19th. We are accepting applications for most characters listed in the Harry Potter Lexicon, but are especially seeking:

Hannah Abbott, Ernie Macmillan, Parvati Patil, Dean Thomas, George Weasley, Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom, Cho Chang, Marcus Fliny, Gregory Goyle, Angelina Johnson, Alicia Spinnet, and Percy Weasley.

For a list of the character most wanted by our players, see the Most Wanted Listed. And for a full list of characters available for application, please see our Master Character List.

Life has always been a game of division; G O O D & E V I L. When the game is over and the veil of life parts to reveal that eternal afterlife the winner and the loser are revealed. And the aministrators of it all, the Alpha and Omega, continue to play--a single soul is easily lost among so many others.

But what of those souls who lose before the game is even over? What of those who are already D A M N E D yet walk Earth still? When all that is Holy turns it's face from you, where can you find peace?

New York City. Though known as the most expensive place to live in the United States, its also known to be the most heavily populated, with nearly ten million people living and playing in its highly urbanized boundaries. Getting an apartment is a hard, excruciating process in New York -- but getting a roommate who won't steal your stuff or kill you in your sleep and use your body as a work of art in their gallery at the Guggenheim is even harder. And that's just the common places.

How about a place where your neighbor can w a l k t h r o u g h w a l l s during the full moon? Or where the woman who lives on the second floor has m a s s i v e b l a c k w i n g s like those of some great cro?

Built by a Daughter of Cain, it is the only place in all the world that cannot be touched by the laws of heaven and hell. The only place outside of the influences of God and Satan. A soft spot where the supernatural is only just below the surface. And since the death of it's original owner it's been rented out to all manner of supernatural creatures, who have been forsaken by Heaven. From demons to vampires to the lingering dead and, most importantly, Children of Cain, those who have made a pact with the devil.

So, welcome to the Godless Complex. A haven for those forsaken by Heaven.
For those who are without a God.

September 22, 2008 the bodies of fourteen badly decomposed bodies were found in Godric's Hollow. These bodies have yet to be identified.
October 24, 2008 was by far the worse Massacre to happen in the last twenty years. The Hogsmeade Massacre, which claimed the life of Minerva McGonagall, has sent Neville Longbottom into a coma, and taken the lives of Hogwarts students and a professor. This does not include the nearly 300 other lives taken in Hogsmeade, along with burned down buildings. The beloved village will never be the same.
November 14, 2008 The people responsible for these attacks are still unknown, and today have gotten away with several more deaths, and over 100 new injuries in a surprise attack on Diagon Alley. "As a magician I promise never to reveal the secret of any illusion to a non-magician, unless that one swears to uphold the Magician's Oath in turn. I promise never to perform any illusion for any non-magician without first practicing the effect until I can perform it well enough to maintain the illusion of magic."

Say you walk into a magic show, take a seat, and see the magician pull out a bunny out of his hat. Yes, entertaining, but there’s a logical explanation for it. Anybody could walk to a store and buy a gimmicked hat. Now, pretend you’re walking down a road, and a street magician comes out and asks you to pick a card from a deck. You pick one out, and it’s the ace of spades. You put it back in the deck, and he guesses your card, and guesses right. There are many logical explanations for this, so you go on nearly unimpressed. Now, say you’re in town, and there’s a magic show in the city. Feeling like you need some entertainment, you go, and the magician levitates himself three feet off the ground. But you think in your head, there must be some hidden wires. Right?

But what if the magician pulled the bunny out of a hat that was not gimmicked? That had no secret pockets, and no hidden zipper. What if the magician took a random card, and just merely guessed your card out of his head? Without cheating and looking back into the deck. What if the magician didn’t use any wires? He just went up without anything. But how is that possible? Well…

What if it was all real?

Centuries ago, nobody knows how, and nobody knows why, but children were being born with these abilities; abilities to vanish objects out of thin air, levitate stories off of the ground, and transform one object into another. The powers have been passed down from family to family, and their abilities have been held a secret because of that one incident.

Scientists, mad, hostile scientists discovered these gifted people and started to capture them. Experiment on them. And for some; kill them. In their point of view, people like them; people with abilities do not belong in this world. So they capture them, looking for a cure.

Their abilities; their tricks; all a secret. Some use them to cast magic shows and use it for a living. Some use their abilities for just normal life. And some don’t use them at all.

But no matter what, a magician never reveals their secret.
