Goals:
- To restructure HP canon so that the horcruxes are found in the Marauders' era instead of trio's.
- Make finding and the destruction of the horcruxes more of a challenge than it was in canon.
- Create wizarding world cultures around the world based on the clues provided by Rowling in canon as well as myths, legends, and folklore from around the world.
- Expand on the characters' choices (enabling them to potentially become very different people and perhaps even switch sides over the course of the game) by giving them choices they never had in the books and making them do things they never did in the books. This includes placing them among characters they usually don't interact with much and in locations they would usually never go.
- Give Death Eaters a vital role in the game instead of making them stand around looking fierce.
Resources plumbed in the course of research:
- A Wikipedia article about a famous natural wonder (among others) whose location is undisclosed for its protection.
- A lost city or three.
- A slightly terrifying account of a Hungarian noblewoman who liked to bathe in young women's blood.
- A video of Gordon Ramsay throwing up.
- Two medieval bestiaries.
- The winners of the 2007 World Beard and Moustache Championships, which we ultimately decided not to use, but which did lead to us finding the most awesome wallpaper ever.
- The homepage for Bush's Baked Beans. Looking back now, this one got seriously out of hand.
- (Warning: probably NSFW) These slippers. In this case, we have no excuse to offer.
Put it all together and you get an AU Harry Potter RPG set in 1979, with the Order of the Phoenix and the Death Eaters racing each other all over the world to find the Horcruxes. No, honestly. You really do.
Especially seeking Death Eaters and male Order of the Phoenix members.

Welcome to The Retreat, a rehabilitation center specializing in Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome for war victims. It is funded by Saint Mungo's hospital and set within the beautiful woodlands of the Kamchatka Peninsula. We proudly boast a well trained staff of nurses and doctors specializing in psychological counseling while, at the same time, providing a healthy and nurturing sense of community and family.
What our pretty brochure won't tell you, however, is that our head doctor is a bit of a bored masochist with a god-complex, magic within The Retreat has been nearly nullified, the grounds are charmed to heighten emotional responses, and there's hidden cameras set up everywhere, even behind the two-way mirrors.
So won't you join us in our pseudo-quest for mental wellness in a post-war world, where even though the Dark Lord is dead, the victims of the second war can't escape the fact that they'll always be someone else's pawn and plaything. |

Gotham City, once the most pristine city in the world, will never be the same again.
Nearly thirty years ago, the city began to struggle. The gap between the rich and the poor was only growing and violent crime was on the rise. Those who fought this corruption found themselves admired by few. It was only after the death of Gotham's golden couple, Thomas and Martha Wayne, that the corruption escalated The city fell into despair and the silent mobs who had operated in the background for decades, rose to power.
No one dared to stand up to the mob and the reasons were clear; you either join or become a public enemy. Various corporations, businesses, and law enforcement establishments fell into mob control, leaving citizens in the midst of mafia power struggles. The innocent suffered or were forced to give in. No one was safe and the more time that passed, the more power the mafia gained.
Early 2007, a mysterious figure appeared to fight these criminals. His courage has influenced others to take a stand over the year, but the mafia still controls the majority of the city. The lone man, dubbed 'The Batman', is going to have more to worry about than the mob in his city. Despite the fear he has struck into the hearts of organized crime, another form of villain has started to emerge. Donning their own costumes, these criminals are turning the work of the Batman against him.
But Batman does not fight alone. His work has inspired others to take the law into their own hands. These caped vigilantes are as eager to protect Gotham as the Batman, whether he accepts the help or not.

Home for Bill Kaulitz? Somewhere people will actually talk to him at. I'm open to having a PSL playing him against someone. Slash only for the psl, and the comm. should be at least slash friendly, obviously. And I'm open for twincest if you want a Tom/Bill psl line or if there's a Tom in the comm. that wants a line. Not necessary, though. :]
