| The Premise |
A year has passed since Aslan sent the Pevensies back to their world with the knowledge that Susan and Peter would never be returning. They have sunk back into the daily hustle and bustle of their lives before Narnia. The last traces of their hope to return slowly dwindle off to nothing.
Then one night Lucy wakes up with a revived sense of excitement. In her dreams have led her on a magical adventure through Narnia once more, with all her siblings in tow. As she gathers her brothers and sister around her she learns she is not the only one to have this sort of dream. However, each Pevensie saw not only the beautiful world of Narnia in their slumber, but strange and troubling things that they don't understand the meaning of.
These dreams continue, becoming more and more frequent, and more and more troubling. After many nights of this the Pevensies wake up, not in their beds, but on the soft, mossy ground of Narnia's woodland. It is something they scarcely dare to believe at first, wandering the terrain until the find their way to the castle of Prince Caspian X. For reasons unbeknownst to them it seems Narnian time has for once been running alongside their own.
They are quick to discover that the strange occurrences they've been seeing in the form of dreams are in fact happening across the land. People from lands never heard of before seem to be pouring into Narnia at an alarming rate. No one can explaining why this happening, and Aslan is nowhere to be found. A strange power is stirring deep at the heart of Narnia and it is now up to the Kings and Queens of old to unravel this unsettling mystery.
It is up to the new arrivals to choose how to react to their own paths. To help or hinder the progress of the rulers? To choose to ignore the upcoming storm or join an army? The decision is theirs alone to make. |

No warning. No previous signs. No explanation. But everyone's story has a middle bit that sounds the same. It involves the mentioning of a "blinding white light" and then the "feeling of the worst hangover imagineable."
This is how they came to Penny Lane.
Penny Lane is a main street in a place that doesn't exist; least not any map. It's a picture perfect sight from the sixties mod culture and yet modern day novelties can be found. The sun always sets a different color. the clouds tinted shades as well - and at night the stars sparkle to a inaudible universal symphony. Penny Lane eventually turns into a long and winding (dirt) road, that runs thru strawberry fields and ends at the Sea of Time. On the edge of the strawberry fields, nestled at the brim of the woods, are caves that burrow underground. At the other end of the Lane there's a different street visible, even people going about their lives, but they never seem to take notice of those on Penny Lane.
No matter which way you try to go; there's no escaping Penny Lane no matter what. Machines that travel through time and space don't work, and those who can open portals between worlds at the wave of a hand find their power lacking. You can run and run and run - but you'll end up back where you started. You can try navigating the green waters of the Sea of Time - but you'll be dead before you lose sight of land. Braving the woods passed the strawberry fields only brings talk from the lonely locals of murderous creatures called Blue Meanies.
Some people go mad. Some try to find a way out. Some cope with the better life they've been given.
But they're all together now.
And this is their story. |

Stay as long as you like, and don't worry if your wallet's empty. Your money's no good here. What we really want from you is a story. The House of Mystery is a pan-fandom RPG/writing prompt community based on the Vertigo comic book title of the same name. The house exists in all places and in all realities. Characters arrive at the house without knowledge of why they are there. Only the staff remain fixed within the house and can't leave. All other characters are free to come and go between their worlds as they wish. Although, it should be said that sometimes the house could grow fond of certain individuals and their stories, and these people might not be permitted to leave.Now open! New adds every Saturday. Currently seeking characters from all fictional canons to help populate the bar. |
