Premise New Marais. A fictional Bayou town located in St. James Parish, Louisiana. The first French settlers who dared to set up a homestead away from the others in the early 1700's were quoted to be said the land they found was haunted. It was theorized that the way the town took shape over time to look like a hand from an aerial advantage is by no mistake. That those who find themselves in the marsh land were indeed trapped and would forever be owned by the swamp. Amusingly, the French who settled the area named their small homestead New Marias, a homage to the bayou to the south of the town and how it seemed to direct and dictate the lives of those who lived there.
Louisiana has seen it's hardships through out the years as hurricanes and tornadoes have torn up her coastal lines along with war and disease. And yet as cities were built and fell and powers changed had, New Marais did little in way of changing. While the city became modern and flowed with the times it has always stayed small despite the fact it has some of the most fertile land for farming around. Those who previously settled the area often found they never left, many families able to count back each generation that had lived and added to the town before them. While New Marais has it's share of drama and tribulations as to be expected, it had always been and always will remain a place that you just can't seem to escape, not if you ever call it home.

We Do Things A Bit Different We encourage our players to keep their threading scenes public for all members of the community to enjoy. With New Marais having a small town setting where everybody usually knows everyone elses business it's our way of letting our players have that same feel if they want.
In an attempt to continue community interaction and help influence a mixing of characters, every six weeks at the end of activity check we shall post an event that will shape the community. Be it a hurricane, tornado, random killing spree, etc. The community will vote the event and those upon removal will be it's victims. We realize this is a different idea and not something often seen but we figured this is a good way to bring a common plot point to the masses.
