Everyone wants out of their life at some time or another, whether it be an idle thought or a strong wish that lingers in their minds every day.
Most people don't realise how deeply they're tempting fate.
You wake up one morning, and you are out - in a manner of speaking. Only, by most accounts out of your mind might have been a kinder fate than being condemned to this strange, foreign world.
If you landed in Westeros, there's a Maester standing by with some books for you to read should you be so inclined; and an enchanted hand-held mirror, a few coppers and silvers, a map of the continents and - perhaps most importantly - a dagger for you.
If you landed in Essos? Just hope that you woke before someone could steal all of the above and leave you even more clueless than before. And that the hordes do not find you. Or the slave traders. The good news is, if someone stole the mirror, it will come back to you before long. The bad news is, you can't get rid of it, nor can you avoid the others to which it ties you.
The Stranger, one of the Gods of the Seven, has been pulling people into the world from all over, without care or mind for their ability to survive, or for with whom they are put. Who you meet at your starting point, or along the way, is more luck and chance than planning, but one thing is for certain: you cannot stay by yourself and expect to live too long.
After all, Winter is Coming
and when the snows fall and the white winds blow,
the lone wolf dies but the pack survives.

Welcome to The Flying Dutchman, Davey Jones' locker for all lost souls. At a crucial moment in your character's history, the universe split. Destiny went its merry way and your character got stuck in a time rip on a luxury cruise ship staffed completely by ghosts. The ship's unplottable. The amenities are free. There are others like you, all trying to get home. So you can either enjoy yourself, or waste your unscheduled vacation worrying yourself over a way to get home. The choice is yours. Of course you may have to deal with a hiccup or two on the way, like sea monsters and deserted islands.

- You wake up sitting at the table. All around you the decadence of a very formal dining room in a very lavish estate. In your hand is a gleaming silver fork & the remnants of a bite of very expensive looking game fowl.
- As your eyes re-focus on your world you realize that you aren't alone & that there are others sitting at the table with you. Others who are just now re-joining the world of the living from some sort of sleep-like state.
- Who are they & why are you all dressed as if attending a black tie event? There is no music & the lighting is entirely comprised of maybe 100 candles in a beautiful crystal & silver chandelier hanging from the ceiling above.
- You toss down your fork, forget the napkin on your lap, & start to get to your feet with a protest on your lips.
- Which is when the scratchy recording of a voice begins to play from the victrola in the corner.
- "Welcome to Dark House." It's neither male nor female sounding. Its androgyny leaving you very unsettled. "You are here for the party, as you can well see. But before you decide it's not for you, please be sure to note that just like that funny, old song says, 'You can check out any time you like. But you can NEVER leave.'"
- The last words are a snarl & someone sitting at the table faints. You think that's the end of it & consider finding the door & proving the record wrong when it coughs back to life with one more thought.
- "Oh & check your pockets, loves. That's all you've got to survive."

From the ashes of the Second War, Wizarding Society rises again. Survivors dust themselves off and pick up the pieces, trying to put their lives back together. Families are reunited. Hogwarts students are given a chance to make up for their lost schooling, with an eighth year added on temporarily. The Ministry has put itself back together, with Kingsley Shacklebolt taking the reins.
But all is not well. When one evil falls, others seek to take its place. Not all of the Death Eaters were captured - some fled during the aftermath that followed the Battle of Hogwarts. Hidden around the world, they plot their resurgence, and their revenge.
From the ashes... will darkness or light prevail?
From Ashes is a game that will combine over-arching plot elements that all characters can react to/be involved with, and the flexibility that allows players to come up with character-specific plots. The hope is to have a game that is fun and relaxed, but interesting as well! Players will be given a chance to involve themselves in any plots that come up - as much or as little as works for them. Interaction will be key in this game! From Ashes is canon-compliant, not counting the epilogue - the future is open!

Tired of games with no direction? Have you ever felt like some characters steal the show, and everyone else is just there sitting idly by? Then join Serpens RPG. This is a game where everyone gets a starring role in the action. You will always have something to do and talk about. The moderators will ensure this is so!
Serpens RPG is an AU Maurauders Era game. The game begins on November 5th, 1981. This is 5 days after Lily and James Potter would have died, had Salazar Slytherin not intervened and killed Voldemort.
Salazar has arrived in Modern Wizarding Britain. Traveling through time to 1981, he not only killed his false heir Voldemort, but also has taken over Hogwarts, expelling Albus Dumbledore from the grounds. With a new and much more powerful foe, what will you do? And what side will you fall on?
This game deals with adult content and so is rated 18+.
We are looking for any and all characters. Primarily those who are Order members or Death Eaters. However we also would like to see some neutral characters.
