Harry Potter and his generation put an end to the the tyranny and fear that was brought on by the Second Wizarding War. They slowly but surely rebuilt the world they loved, making sure that actions were put into place so that this would never happen again. As they started to grow older and start families, they made sure that their children learned the lessons of the past, and made sure that those who died, did not die in vein. However, it just wasn't Harry Potter and those in league with him teaching those lessons. Children of the fallen and the supporters of the fallen were also being taught a lesson. A new power is starting to rise from the ashes, and only time will tell if they will be able to correct the mistakes made by their parents and finish it once and for all. Deaths, births, the rise of a new generation, changes for a better world. The only thing that the wizarding world struggled with was a small uprising started by the children of former Death Eaters. Thankfully, it only took one year to quash it, and luckily only a small number of causalities came from it. In the end the nine members of the uprising were caught, and sentenced for their crimes against the wizarding world. Since then everything started to progress again and over time the wizarding world became slightly more dependent on the muggle world, and with that came change and adaptation. One of these changed came when former Minister Shaklebolt decided that the key to a peaceful future was knowledge. With knowledge came acceptance and progress to maintain a better world. In 2030 Eolas University came the first Wizarding University. Modeled after muggle universities across Britain and Ireland the goal was to educate young witches and wizards preparing them for their career of choices. Everything from Geffory Buttermere College of Medicine, the MacTavish College of Law Enforcement, Goodfellow College of Magical Law, to degrees offered in Magical Zoology, Muggle Studies, a wide array of degrees available for every kind of field in the wizarding world. It is up to this new generation to decide what to do with the knowledge, if they'll use it to follow their dreams, to help wizarding kind, or for their own personal benefit. It couldn't be, of course. That person isn't even real and dreams are just dreams, right? Or, maybe not. A series of people, all around the world, are experiencing that very thing and, as it turns out, there's much more to it than it being just a dream. Those people are all reincarnations of fictional characters - imaginary people from literature, mythology, nursery rhymes, fairy tales, etc. They don't have conscious memories of their past lives, but, boy, do they dream about them. Some of them even have special abilities related to their former selves. The dreams can be good or bad, but the one thing they all are is vivid. [11 Oct 2011|09:33pm] Premise Rules Characters Ayers House Murder House is an original horror role playing game set in rural Maine in autumn 2010. The game will focus on the experiences of 15 individuals (starting out) who come to the reopening of the famed Ayers Murder House. The house has been transformed into a world class bed and breakfast resort by a mysterious benefactor and whether through contest or invitation, the guests have arrived. Some are ghost hunters. Some are history buffs. Others are just looking to get away for a few weeks. What they aren't aware of is that that there are a multitude of spirits inside of the house, both good and evil. And the house is looking to add to the body count... The game is meant to focus on the human struggle against the supernatural and the self. The characters will be faced with temptation, horror, and true tests of survival. Each player will take on the role of one character archtype and one type of ghost (should they so choose). That way each player will have the chance to get a taste of the game from both sides of the game. Overplot will be run, but this is meant to be a cooperative experience, meaning that ALL players will engage in creating plot and are encouraged to do so! Game begins with FIVE characters. In 1690, the Black Family Dynasty declared themselves rulers of the Magical Population of Great Britain and have reigned since then, with the support of the Ministry of Magic. Like many rulers, the family has faced a multitude of complications and threats to its rule over the hundreds of years it has reigned, but, it remains strong. Society operates as a Constitutional Monarchy. The Black Monarchs can only do so much as can the current Minister. The tussles for power and control have battled out through the years, yet somehow it has remained stable. For now. The year is now 1979. Whispers mingle the air foreshadowing the change that is on the way. King Orion Black I, sits on the throne after the tragic and suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of his father King Arcturus Black II in 1976. However, while he sits firm on the throne, the ship has began to rock. A recent surge of deaths has struck the family as well as the disownments of the previous Heir to the Throne Sirius Black and his cousin Bellatrix. Opposition rages outside of the Monarchy. The Ministry of Magic is opposing the Monarchy even more especially under the rule of their new minister, Albus Dumbledore. Even more worrisome is the Death Eaters led by Lord Voldemort who is determined to seize power and create the society that the Monarchy has failed to craft. Society has remained stable, but, as the foundations shake, one great push may have it tumbling over for good. For now, they remain content to rest on their line of succession that decrees that Prince Regulus Black will succeed his father, even as the rest in the line slowly drop dead around him. Perhaps, the person behind it wants someone else on the throne? Maybe they do not realise that the line of succession might soon be changed forever? Perhaps it might not even matter.
