X-Project: An X-Men Movieverse RP on Livejournal |
[28 Sep 2011|05:15pm] |
X-PROJECT: AN X-MEN MOVIEVERSE RPG Name: JENNIFER STAVROS/ROULETTE
Luck of the Draw
The Hellions in the comics got a pretty crappy run of things, what with being wiped out, but in X-Project, we’re awesome! True we’re not actually the Hellions, but being an X-Man is definitely better than being wormfood. Or being unplayed, which is like being wormfood, even if you’re in London studying to be a dancer. And I was just starting to really strut my stuff with the team, too. So, if you want a sassy type who isn’t afraid to speak her mind and who can kick butt with the best of them, check me out. I could be your lucky day!
X-Project is an X-Men movieverse RPG on Livejournal. Set after X2, we've been running since May 2003 and use a combination of in-character journals and email/IM logs. There's a number of settings for a range of play, whatever your preference, and while we accept new characters we strongly encourage people to adopt one of our orphans.
Check out the Wiki and the advertising community to see what's available. Readers are highly encouraged! If you're looking for X-Men based entertainment, X-Project welcomes you to read along and enjoy the ride!

Wizarding Britain is at war... |
1979 is winding toward its own close. Conflicts between the Order of the Phoenix and the Death Eaters continue as Dark Lord continues pressing for dominion of the Wizarding world, and the Ministry will not stand for it. With the rise of a new administration five years ago, Britain has seen the situation grow more and more tense as all three sides raise the stakes one after another.
Laws prohibit travel without Ministry approval, and increasingly, democracy seems to be giving way to a police state. Muggleborns and their advocates disappear in the night as terrorists spill innocent blood in the streets. Pureblood manors are burned and ransacked as an organization for peace lashes out to fight fire with fire. Chaos ensues.
The loudest question on everyone's minds and lips is the simplest: who will win?
No one is certain, and no one is certain what will be left for those winners when the smoke clears.
lockdown is a Marauder-Era AU roleplaying game, taking the world of Harry Potter and exploring the theme of an extended civil war and its effect on the populace. The themes of freedom, safety, peace and conflict, the opposing forces of light and dark, and the idea of what measures are called for in times of war will all be questioned, examined, and turned on their head. In the end, the work of the characters involved and the ends to which they are willing to go, are the only things that will decide Britain's ultimate fate.
Characters wanted: Mulciber jr., Rosier sr., Edgar Bones, Rita Skeeter, Fabian Prewett, Fenrir Greyback, Crouch sr., Death Eaters, DMLE, Ministry Workers. |

Forgotten Gods |
[28 Sep 2011|09:47pm] |
 |
Virtually everything the human race has ever believed in is true. And it continues to be true, long after the human race particularly needs it to be true any more.
-- Douglas Adams, The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul |

Forgotten Gods follows the deities of ancient mythologies, brought to America long ago by explorers or immigrants from their homelands and eventually abandoned or lost from memory. As their worshippers have moved on to new religions, the gods' powers have waned -- for a god, at its most pure essence, is no more than an idea, and an idea is worthless if there is nobody to believe in it. Some have passed, forgotten, from the world, while others have fallen into madness. Some have simply tried to adapt, to make a life for themselves in this place without gods, getting by on what little scraps of worship and belief they can garner. Others are more radical, intent on regaining the power that was once theirs and reviving their followings.
And then there are the New Gods. Gods of cars and computers, television and radio, cities and highways, all those things that modern Americans put their faith in. They are young, at the height of their power. These newcomers are regarded dismissively by some of the old ones, who have seen so many new deities rise and fall in their time; jealously by others, who wish to reclaim the power for their own; and by all with a deep, abiding wariness.
Inspired by the world of Neil Gaiman's American Gods, this game invites players to step into the roles of deities, old and new, to create their own modern mythology. |

[28 Sep 2011|10:59pm] |
 |
High school: the best and worst of times - especially if you can move things with your mind, shoot fire from your fingertips, or lift up a car with one hand. Welcome to Tranquility, Pennsylvania, just another ordinary small town in a post-evolutionary world. Tensions are running high as, one by one, the powered students are outed and the anti-powered sentiment strengthens. It’s been thirty years since the Powered People’s Protection Act was passed, yet the world is still filled with discrimination and hatred, and in a small town like Tranquility, things don’t change unless you force them to. One thing is certain: revolution is coming, and sooner or later, everyone is going to have to choose a side. |
