Los Angeles

What does the name mean to you? The City of Angels is all about the dream: every night thousands lay their heads down to sleep and surrender their souls to the mercy of these streets. Some of them dream of bohemian ecstasy; they're artists, freaks, and geeks who find sanctuary in the exclusive communities. Some want their moment in the sun, seeking fame and fortune on the Platinum Triangle. Others have come for the safety to simply be as they are, to choose their own path whether it be down a back alley or a trim boulevard.

Yet others have come to drink up the nightmares of these sleeping citizens and snuff out every light that still burns in the dark.

They know the true secret of L. A., the pretty city on the beach. Its dreamers are not all human, some not even human-like, and they too have come to scratch out an existence here. Many are content to blend into human society, but many more are not. They live to destroy everything humans are made of, to subjugate them and consume their souls. These monsters have attracted powerful enemies from above who will lay down their lives for both Man and God. They are drawing battle lines down the very streets, and all who live here will choose a side... or none will survive.

Join us to visit the City of Angels, the city of dreams and nightmares, and watch fate slowly unveiling.

"The final story, the final chapter of western man, I believe, lies in Los Angeles."
— Phil Ochs

American Magical Institute

Way up in the mountains there is a school, a school for magical kids to learn and play. A school known for their progressive stance. It is a safe school, where few bad things happened. Oh, they have their urban legends, sure. Like about that couple who committed suicide up at that old oak tree when their parents said they cold not be together (what a tragic Romeo and Juliet), and about the prankster that took things just a bit too far (a warning for the tricksters), and then there are the old stories, about the ghosts of early settlers before the school was established, Native Americans and the first lines of expansion. It is said their ghosts haunt the woods, and are not too friendly.

Yes, AMI has its history, just like any other school. And just like any other school, AMI has its problems. The only question is… who is the culprit? Will they be found?

Can they be stopped?

Consequences - A Post-DH AU Harry Potter RPG [28 May 2011|01:28pm]
RESURRECTED ATTACKED IN HOGSMEADE
[info]cqmods via [info]consequences
It was a dark day in Hogsmeade when Charity Burbage, RO and former Hogwarts Professor, was brutally attacked. Ms. Burbage, RO, was found by Madame Rosemerta in the early morning on Friday with several broken bones, multiple cuts and numerous hexes evident on her body. Ms. Burbage, RO, was transported to St. Mungo’s for a medical evaluation and is expected to live, but just barely.

The attackers are believed to be part of an extremist group rallying against the placement of Resurrected Ones in society. A letter delivered to Amelia Bones, RO, at the Department of Magical Law Enforcement promised more attacks on ROs if they are not contained within the Ministry and have their freedoms revoked.

Ms. Bones, RO, gave the following statement at the Ministry of Magic in response to the attack and the letter. “The Ministry of Magic has worked very hard for many years to be a Ministry that supports freedoms and civil rights for all citizens of England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland. The Ministry has not now, or will they ever, bow to threats of this nature. And I personally urge all citizens to remember that we, the Resurrected Ones, are flesh and bone like all of you. There should not be a difference between any of us.”

"Was it really necessary to put 'RO' every time they said Professor Burbage's name?" -Fred Weasley

"Like it's not enough they bloody stamped it on our arms. Or that we're stared at, everywhere we go. Or turned away from jobs." -Gideon Prewett

"I hate this. I feel like going and getting 'RO' tattooed on my forehead just to prove a bloody point." -Ginny Weasley

"I didn't apparently bloody well DIE for everyone's freedom so they could start locking people up just because they think we're different, or whatever." -Nymphadora Tonks

Most Wanted: Pansy Parkinson, Hermione Granger, Andromeda Tonks, George Weasley, Tracey Davis, Michael Corner, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Molly Weasley, Hannah Abbott, Ernie MacMillan, Dean Thomas, Seamus Finnigan, Draco Malfoy, and more available!

The Gossip Witch - A Post-DH HP RPG [28 May 2011|01:34pm]

PREMISE > RULES > POSTING > CHARACTER LIST > MOST WANTED > CAST > PBS > APPLICATION

She calls herself "The Gossip Witch", and no one knows her true identity. All they know is that if there's gossip in the Wizarding community, The Gossip Witch knows it, and she's not afraid to print it. Entries from this unknown source appear in the journals weekly; printing everything there is to know about the lives and scandals of former Hogwarts graduates (even things she shouldn't be able to know). She may use initials, but just about everyone knows who the rumors are about. Will your character end up on Gossip Witch's daily dishings? And how will this affect their lives, their relationships, and their emotions? No matter how it plays out, you know you love her...

The Gossip Witch has been open since January of 2010. We are accepting applications for all canon characters in the wiki or Lexicon, but are especially looking for:

George Weasley, Ernie Macmillan, Zacharias Smith, Hannah Abbott, Susan Bones, Terry Boot, Padma Patil, Lee Jordan, Roger Davies, Marietta Edgecombe, and more.

Hogwarts, meet the Ministry.

With the latest orders from the Ministry, the structure of the Prefect system at Hogwarts was the first change: Prefects have been paired by year and house, forming a team which cannot assign detentions or take house points without consulting one another. It was from this new policy that the Inquisitorial Squad was reborn: a student-run club designed to train interested students in Ministry issues and conflict resolution. At Hogwarts, things are orderly, organized, and above all, fair - or are they?

Prefects are finding new ways to abuse their powers and control others. Students retaliate in their own ways, bringing personal issues before the Inquisitorial Squad, treating it more like a Hogwarts' version of the Wizengamot than a wizarding Model UN club. A secret society runs amok in the student underground, their activities and intentions mysterious and seemingly neutral -- for now.

In a socially revolutionary game, the members of Absit Invidia invite you to join the new generation of wizards and witches as they return to Hogwarts, the war of their parents forgotten. Their new challenge? The battles of everyday life as a young magician; struggling to make friendships, remember charms and pass classes in the face of adjusted policies and countless possibilities.
