This is a perilous time for every witch and wizard, no matter whether they have already chosen a loyalty or resist getting any more involved than they absolutely must. As the Centaurs read in the fires and stars, the time between two wars ended many months ago, and now as the winter holidays draw to a close and lies are spoken just as often and as acceptably as truth, witches and wizards across Britain and beyond will find their character tested as they face the troubles of outright war. The moderators are seeking players eager to write collaboratively with one another, who want a highly active yet short-term game where they can richly bring a character or two fully to life during some of their most defining moments. You think you know London, its streets and alleys like the creases of your palm. You don't know all its secrets. In its depths are places to buy amulets and tarot readings, a talisman that permits the wearer to manipulate luck hangs alongside bottles of herbs and demon's blood. Books so ancient the pages are tissue-thin jostle against postcards of buses and telephone boxes. There are bars where the clientele don't just find the dim light flattering, but downright necessary, and the smell of brimstone lingers in the nostrils. There are corners and recesses where magic isn't trickery or sleight of hand, but blood and bone and flesh and you might -- you might -- catch sight of feathers pure as snow and light, if you know where to go. If you know how to see. There's a pitched battle being fought for this other London and your London besides -- one in which every human in existence is being counted in a gamble for souls, Heaven and Hell trying to tip the scales and grave-faced Librarians holding them steady. And all the time, people go about their lives with a little pinch of something extra in a London you'll never see. |

We need: angels (there's a lot of demons trying to influence humanity, care to counter it before the world slides into hell?) market-goers (magic can be bought and paid for) Merchants (the Market knows more than you do and it will take its pound of flesh) Havenites (need some help? Haven's got it) mundanes (because some people have got to be sane in all this madness) |

Eligere is a Magical Boarding School game set on the coast of Oregon at a school for the Pureblooded Elite. In an effort to ensure the old lines and customs continue, arranged marriages are encouraged, something which the school fully supports with special classes for those involved in arranged marriages as well as special accommodations for the engaged upperclassmen at the school.
Proper lineage must be proven to gain admission to Eligere Institute, but we are accepting characters of all political affiliations - both those who support the purist ideals of the school and those who do not. We're looking for an even mix and lots of diversity within the Pureblooded magical population. Students also are not required to be a part of the Arranged Marriage Programme and we'd like a good mix of both those involved and those not involved. Anything goes, so long as your character is either Pure or Faking It.
We've moved to Scribbld from Inksome and are looking to re-open by December 21st, but in order to do that, we need a few more apps! Boys are especially wanted/needed, but anyone new characters are welcome!m |
