A premonition of doom and destruction, but with no one listening, Hazel, and his seer brother Fiver, leads the way to freedom on the rundown, abandoned Watership. Fiver has blurry ideas of where they need to go : somewhere safe, a new home, a planet, far away from the New England galaxy, the rule of Frith and Rainbow Corporation and the greed and war mongering of the Elil. The trouble, however, is getting there. Over 1,000 years ago, schools for witches and wizards were founded in European countries to instruct students in magic. Hundreds of years later, late to the party as usual, American witches and wizards started their own school, after the disaster that was the Salem Witch Trials. Since then, Salem Academy has flourished as well as its European cousin schools. As times grew modern, American witches and wizards became immersed in Muggle culture. Now in the 21st century, Salem Academy seems like any other high school. There's just one difference. These kids know magic. post comment

[26 Jun 2009|10:35pm] Charles Xavier established the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters in 1985, a high-school level institute for children with special talents. Previously, his work with the "Mutant X Gene" was considered preposterous by most of the scientific community, and many expressed that "finding logic in the 'gifts' of psychics and fortune tellers was a waste of taxpayer money". The idea that any number of "supernatural" abilities could be explained by a common genetic abnormality was unheard of, and Xavier was practically laughed out of the scientific community. When the school was developed, no one was quite sure under what criteria he selected his attendees, the student body count of the first year being only fifty-six. Over the next five years that number more than doubled, and has remained at around 250 students every year since. In the past ten years, the idea of "mutants", became more widespread, though no official statements were ever made. Most of the population in the United states still strongly considered the idea to be ridiculous openly. Still, speculation and paranoia grew, and the word "mutant" became more commonplace. Over the past couple years it seems that Xavier has been "recruiting" students more actively than ever. x_academy is an AU, Marvel universe school rp that focuses on the every day events and relationships of the students and faculty of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. The game focuses primarily on character interaction and personal plot, but will also delve into the complications of mutant tolerance in a world that may not be ready. Links.
