Game opens TODAY! [17 Apr 2009|12:35am]

CONNOTATION
MORE THAN JUST A WAR GAME

Premise | Available Characters | Who We'd Like To See

The problem with most post-Hogwarts marauders' era games is that there's such a large focus on the war and how events affect the war. It's all dark, admittedly a little plotless the majority of the time, and can be a bit of drag. "Oh. More mass murders. I guess that'll be... interesting."

At Connotation, we're going to change that. The war is going on, but it isn't the main focus, giving room for more potential plot-wise. And not just the mod's plot - yours.

That's right. Here's your chance to get involved with shaping the plot.

Muggles bumbling into the wizarding world, secret underground movements, kidnapping, and the search for the hallows - they're all being thrown around as potential pieces of the plot and you can be part of the discussion. All you have to do is join.

GAME BEGINS THIS FRIDAY!

Wanted: Get on applying. We need James Potter, Lily Evans, Ted Tonks, Bellatrix Lestrange, Rodolphus Lestrange, Rabastan Lestrange, Amycus Carrow, Alecto Carrow, Barty Crouch Jr., Lucius Malfoy, Narcissa Malfoy, Antonin Dolohov, Nott, Thorfinn Rowle, Yaxley, Frank Longbottom, Alice Longbottom, Severus Snape, Edgar Bones, Alastor Moody, Emmeline Vance, Amos Diggory, and many more!

〈〈 GAME INFO RESERVES TAKEN APPLICATION WANTED 〉〉
some are born to sweet delight,
some are born to endless night. -William Blake

In very recent years, Japanese scientists have invented a 'synthetic blood' that is capable of fully sustaining a vampire's diet. Sort of like a vampiric 'slim fast'; the drink, now mass marketed under the name TruBlood, has allowed many vampires to come out of the shadows and into mainstream society.

Now that humans are no longer an entrée, vampires have "come out of the coffin" to demand their place in society complete with equal rights and citizenship. Religious leaders and government officials around the world have chosen their sides and a full-on political war is in progress.

Feeling that they have sat back and watched these battles long enough, many powerful and ancient vampires begin to migrate toward the lush and decadent city of New Orleans, one of the country's strongest vampiric hot spots, where they are drawn by the call of their brethren to meet and discuss what these changes may mean for immortal "life" as they know it. But what will come of such an influx of power and what will it mean for the Vampire Rights Movement? Some are willing to give up the lifeblood that fuels their existence in order to join human society and others will try and take back the night. Which side will you be on?

Sanguinarias is a (limited) cross-fandom roleplay loosely based upon HBO's True Blood.

PREMISE

You wake up to the smell of smoke.

In the year 2008, a virus swept North America. Ever vigilant for a pandemic, citizens boarded up their windows, stockpiled their canned goods, and turned their neighbors in to the CDC. Short wave radios fell off the shelves, evacuation routes were prepared. Gas masks and specialty filtration systems were distributed. Pills were available for those showing early symptoms. Pills that did not work. That were later replaced with cyanide as their active ingredient. For those who were brave enough to put their fingers near a loved one's mouth. The United States, Canada, Mexico, the virus swept down into South America and festered in the heat of the jungle. In some places it burned out. Superstition ruled and saved lives. But nothing stopped the virus.

You wake up to the crackle of dead airwaves.

Three months after the first diagnosed case of Currere Excessum was recorded, NATO approved Great Britain's use of nuclear force against the United States. It was assumed that all organic material would be reduced to ash under the impact. It was assumed that the Quarantine of the Americas would be temporary, at best. Any who survived the blast would be given the highest in humanitarian attention and medical care. The only American emissaries who knew of the plan lay incinerated in Washington. The Quarantine continued. The Americas lay abandoned. Empty.

Welcome to Reading. It's a place where the sun is always shining, and people always have a place to be. Where people dress up to leave the house, and always have something interesting to talk about. Where nursery rhymes aren't just in books, it's where they are alive. It's where you can find Humpty Dumpty sitting on a wall, and an old lady who lives in a shoe. If one could step into the world of fiction, you'd find yourself in Reading. Life here can be magical and terrible all at once. Reality in Reading is not always realistic. And things are not always as they seem.

Underneath the sunny exterior lies a much darker Reading. The only thing bigger than the rhymes themselves, are the crimes that seem to surround them.
