[26 Jan 2009|09:57am] The town of Shelby, California has been around since the mid-18oo’s, back when Gold Rush fever was spreading like wildfire throughout the country. It’s relative closeness to the San Bernardino mountains made it a choice locale for miners and those seeking to start a new life. Twice it spat in the face of Fate. Twice it rose from complete destruction to become something great, something that would be a part of American history forever. Present day, 2009. The years have not been kind to Shelby. Though it is a popular tourist attraction, the town has rebelled against every attempt to restore it to its former glory. How can a town rebel, you ask? It’s a controversial question, to be sure. Psychics have reported that hundreds of restless spirits walk the streets and linger in the old buildings. Mr. Victor Shelby, a direct descendant of the town’s very first major and current owner of the place, has spent the last few years trying to track down the descendants of Shelby’s former inhabitants. The ones who responded and didn’t think him to be a crazy loon accepted the invitation (and the generous sum of money offered) to come to Shelby and attempt to communicate with the spirits. The project even garnered the attention of a popular ghost hunting television series, who expressed interest in wanting to film a documentary. For two and a half weeks the research team and the descendants would investigate the hauntings. From the creators who brought you Old West RP, we invite you to once again venture into this fictional town. The first leg of the storyline will run from February 1, 2009 to April 1, 2009. After that, all game wide plots will be decided upon by the players. For the beginning of the game, there will be a close-off deadline for accepting applications. We will be accepting applications up until February 21, 2009, which will last up until April 1, 2009, when the second leg of our storyline is decided upon. The Fruitful Project is an independent game founded on November 2nd 2008. It has no prequels, sequels, or spin-offs. Similarities with any games that have come before it are purely coincidental. The Fruitful Project Original Character. Future. Arranged Marriage. 17 & Up. In the year 2010 the world was plagued by the full effect of Global Warming. No country was spared, and no one could imagine the speed in which it came. Within months entire cities were underwater, drier than deserts, or completely leveled. Thousands died and there was no end in sight. Many lost hope until 2020 when the Eden Project was founded. The Eden Project was a last ditch effort by the human race. Surviving scientists came up with a chemical, a gas called 'Eden' that would hopefully cool the atmosphere enough to put a stop to the catastrophes happening around the world. Slowly but surely the temperature began to drop and the storms slowed. In the time between the beginning of the storms to the launch of the Eden Project, the world population had dropped from nearly seven billion to a little below five. It was another six years before the effect of the 'Eden' chemical was known. It began in 2028. There were suddenly less children being born and by the end of 2029, pregnancies stopped all together. The men and women of the world were now completely sterile. It was soon discovered that the Eden chemical was the cause of the sterilization, that the one thing that had saved the world had also doomed it to an inevitable ending, the population destined to dwindle down to nothing. Now in 2048, after the population has dropped to below three billion, a solution has been found. The same lab that came up with the Eden project has been working for the past nineteen years to reverse the devastating effects without destroying the clean and near perfect atmosphere of Earth. The Fruitful project was a serum, a cure that reversed the sterilization but only in people below the age of thirty. The Global Government is taking a drastic step to increase the population. The Governments of the world began to administer the serum by either offering it for people to take willingly or slipping it into the water. To further insure that the population will continue to grow, a global law has been put into place. A marriage law. The Fruitful Law. Every healthy, non-married person between the ages of nineteen and twenty-nine are to be married, whether by choice or by Government selection. The couple will have a one year period at the most after their marriage to conceive. The Fruitful project is for the betterment of our world. Who will be your match? A note about the mods: The mods at Fruitful are experienced players who have seen their fair share of fantastic games...and the not-so fantastic games. PREMISE | GUIDELINES | CHARACTERS | APPLICATION | CAST LIST It has been fourteen years since the menacing influence of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named has been felt, but the memory will never truly fade. Harry Potter and his fellow classmates left Hogwarts victorious, but at a great cost did they do so. Large portions of Hogwarts lay crumbling around them. Friends and families mourned the premature passing of loved ones. The Wizarding world did not escape the clutches of Voldemort unscathed. Every child born during the postwar population boom knows the stories of the war. They know the trials faced by the heroic Order of the Phoenix and they're familiar with the brooding faces of the villains, but it isn't the parents who pass on this knowledge, for many of them are unwilling to relive the memories. A few brave souls have shared their own experiences and knowledge while the remainder of the survivors stubbornly cling to the hope that they will forget, no matter how tightly memory holds them. As September looms ever closer, a new year at Hogwarts lingers on the horizon, but this isn't just another year. With the final examinations in June, Hogwarts will be releasing it's first graduating class since it reopened in 2003. It is this class that has had the privilege of experiencing a new Hogwarts; one that no longer has a shadow forever hanging above it. This year celebrates seven complete years of laughter, knowledge, and, most importantly, hope. This sense of celebration and excitement hovers over the students as they ready for the school year, and it will surely be packed alongside the cauldrons and rolls of parchment to be brought back to Hogwarts. The question that seems to be drawing a lot of attention from the older generation is whether or not the good times really do last? PREMISE :: TAKEN :: RULES :: APPLICATION After the events of March 29th, 2007 our Heroes are disheartened, spread across the U.S., and quickly losing their numbers. And to make matters worse, one of their own was working up a plan that would sacrifice his peers to better himself. As if that weren't enough, someone is out there with malicious intent toward people who are "special". Someone is hunting and rounding up anyone with abilities. No one knows who the hunter is or where the hunter comes from. And no one knows where their peers are going. Will opposing sides find allies in each other to end this menace, or will they do as they always have and serve only themselves and their own purposes? Only time will tell... and time is something they're running out of. HeroesFugitives will run parallel to Volume 4 of the series starting from March 30th, 2007 (after episode 3.13 Dual) and run in real time.
