THEODICY is a new angels/demons-esque type game, which focuses on a variety of new concepts. This game will have many mature themes. Slash Friendly. Different and in the fun variety, naturally!
PREMISE
Then.
Creation Sunday the 21st of October, 9008 BC, at 8:45 AM to October 31st, 2008. (23h59, to be precise)
Everyone knows the story. It is one of the most tragic, yet epic tale of all time. Creation, Rebellion, Even war, who could have guessed that a mere point could break up the very foundation of Heaven. A lasting result sending well over one third of all those once considered celestial beings to be sent packing to their current residence -- Hell. Since "the big one," there have been some signs of cooperation amongst those divided into the two parties. As time continued, angels tended to not breach the holy demands of God. Less rebellions occurred, and fewer angels risked the damnation for eternity. The last one having occurred during the times of Greek authority and Roman rule -- little more than two thousand years ago. Keep in mind, such a concept like Loyalty is greatly supported by both groups. Together they held their tongues, waiting, finding ways to pass the time through means of literally "raising hell" on Earth. It is this playing field that they act upon. Conflict upon conflict, the never ending battles of good and evil. Humans, being their most enjoyed vessels of pure enjoyment. They wait, patiently. Both sides. Counting the hours down til once again, they can wage war. Angel versus Angel, once again.
The story was told, and that story remains.
Samhain Eve, a concept celebrated through many around the United Kingdom is still one of the key festivals of the Celtic calendar, and is practiced around the 31st of October. Samhain represents the final harvest before winter, The time when the God dies, only to be reborn once again from that of the Goddess. The true symbolism that the earth is ever changing. Also known as Feast of the Dead, many believe that is on this night that many believe the veils between the real world, and the supernatural are allowed to collide, and at times fading compleately. The spirits of the past, and other entities on this night, are allowed to travel freely from both realms to socialize with the humans, the less aware.
Now.
November 1st, 2008. All Saints Day.
The angels and the fallen have all on this morning, woken up inside a human shell. The body they now occupy, has always been living and breathing -- having a life on Earth. It has a history, a family, friends, maybe even a job and romance. These people are .. human. They cry when punched (unless you may find that to be kinky), all possess habits which could be considered less attractive, secrets, and stories to tell. If you ask anyone, they would tell you that this person has always been around. By physical appearance alone, they all look ... normal enough.
Here's a secret, just between you and I. In all actuality, up until today it really.. never existed.
Heaven and Hell are no more. God and the Devil have simply vanished, those familiar presences not even felt by any of those with demonic or angelic origin. They have literally, just woken up, flustered in a daze of confusion and bewilderment, enthralled in the bustling city of New York. In such a harsh environment, unfamiliar to most, probably won’t be helping the grieving process any. Amongst many, there are questions. Why me?, Why this now?, Why this way? For most, it was the only place they could call home. Now, literally thrown in the middle of a busy street. This is the ultimate test. But then, who knows which ones of them will mind.
Foes will be reunited. Maybe even friends. All that’s certain is that they are the only ones who know for a fact that their present status, contrary to all appearances, is a very new and surprising development. And that's just the consolation prize. Included is free package of wonder. Many things have been asked, yet remain unanswered. Has God simply left? Ceased to exist? Do they still have a mission? A purpose? Can they ever go back? And even if it was so, Which ones would choose to?
