 The Cure didn't work. So the government decided to step in and put it up a notch. The Mutant Registration Act was finally passed. All mutants are required to carry IDs stating their mutation or they would be arrested for breaking the law. Separate prisons were built for mutant criminals. The use of mutant powers in public not only incited riots, but now carries a minimum prison sentence of fifteen days.
The great activist of mutant rights, Charles Xavier is dead. Erik Lensherr is back, powerful then ever, with a new Brotherhood of Mutants behind him. The future looks like a bleak place to be for mutants, but Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters flourishes under Ororo Munroe, the new Headmistress. She, along with the mutant only known as Logan, educate the young mutants of tomorrow and provide a beacon of hope to the mutant community.

So we all know that Captain Jack Harkness runs Torchwood Three, that Torchwood One was destroyed in the Battle of Canary Wharf, that Torchwood Two is headed by "a very strange man" and that Torchwood Four is currently misplaced. Well that's all fine and dandy, but things are about to start changing. Torchwood One is reopening just outside of London and is now known as Torchwood 1.1 and Torchwood Two's leader has been replaced. Torchwood Three of course isn't any different, with the exception that Jack has been missing for a bit. The big thing is that Torchwood Four is back on the map, headed by the same person it had been before it was 'misplaced'.
It seems Torchwood Four, headed by one Major Charlie Sheppard, had a minor malfunction involving Cardiff's rift. In fact, Torchwood Four is located right near Torchwood Three, or at least it was until it and its team got pulled into another universe. Which is where Lucian Devereaux comes in. It seems that he got a hold of a Time Agent's vortex manipulator in the far future and has been using it at his own pleasure. Well, until it backfired and he was sent to the present and made the rift flux, sucking Torchwood Four into it. Luckily, Major Sheppard wasn't there at the time.
Now as for Lucian, he'd been jumping through time randomly and unwillingly as he tried to fix the vortex manipulator. During this time he realized that he'd jump from the present in Cardiff to some different point in time and then back. Along the way, he managed to bring back people with him who shouldn't be during that time, and that caused the rift to go haywire, also bringing people to the present that shouldn't be there: those that are dead, those who aren't born yet, and those in other dimensions. And so, Torchwood realized they needed to work extra hard to try and stop this and thus re-established Torchwood Four, somehow convincing Charlie to head it once more. And that is where we begin...
Ever at the ready is a Torchwood/Doctor Who RP that allows for any character from either series (old and new) to be incorporated, as well as original characters! It takes place around the start of season two. We've only just started and we're looking for a majority of the canon cast still, including The Doctor (any of them) and most of Torchwood Three. We're also looking for bad guys and aliens to be hunted down, as well as people to fill up the other Torchwood Teams. If you think you're ready, then we're ready to have you join the team!

"Some places just seem to be that way. You know, mystical hot-spots… The Devils Triangle; Sedona, Arizona; New Orleans; Stonehenge; places where strange things just seem to happen. I never used to think much about any of that, I thought it all was all bunk, the work of fiction or an over active imagination (Maybe too much pizza before bedtime.). I never believed any of it before I moved to Seattle. Never thought any of it could be true until I bought a renovated condo in the Old Town Towers. But not even the things I saw there could prepare me for what happened underground. Now, I know things like ghosts and werewolves and such can’t exist. But what about that housekeeping woman that walks through walls, and one time walked right through me? Or that creepy pale guy in D5 who always smells like blood (or the woman beside him that always smells like garlic)? Strange howling sounds, terrified screams, disappearing pets..."

THE REVEALER
A Harry Potter AU Role Play
Located on Insane Journal
After Dumbledore was killed and Harry was left with a fake Horcrux, the boy-who-lived became determined to bring down Voldemort. Of course, Harry wouldn't be allowed to go on such a task without the help of his friends Ron and Hermione (they aren't called the Golden Trio for no reason!). The three of them searched high and low, with haste and dedication that was to be admired. All the while keeping contact with the order so they could keep track of what the Dark Lord was doing. A month before school was set to start the trio finally found the last Horcrux. They destroyed it and let out a huge sigh of relief - their laborious task would soon come to a close. With the Horcruxes gone Harry set off to destroy the wizard who had taken so much from him. Voldemort had his Death Eaters by his side, as Harry had the Order. The final battle was a blur of flashing light from hexes and curses being thrown from one wizard at another. With several casualties from both sides, Harry and the Order found themselves victorious.
It is now the trio's last year at dear old Hogwarts. With Kinglsy Shacklebolt as the Minister of Magic, the wizarding world was both rejoicing and trying to return to a normal state of living. The Minister and Headmaster McGonagall decided that more needed to be done to promote tolerance among the wizarding community and that the best place to start that was in Hogwarts. When the students received their shopping lists for school they also were given a magical journal. The journal would be used to bring the students together, no matter what House they resided in. The students would be able to communicate with one another at any given time and share their thoughts or daily happenings. Of course, privacy must always be given for privacy's sake, and the students were also able to hex certain bits of their writing to be kept private from everyone or just a specific group of people.
Remember though, that this is Hogwarts. An anonymous student or group of students - no one is really sure - came up with a new spell. A spell that would allow them to write entries in their journals and have it show up in the other journals without any name attached to it. Instead it is always signed 'The Revealer'. The spell is used by the students to spread gossip anonymously throughout the school and the spell quickly got around. Now, the journals that had been meant for harmony and unity had become a tool for spreading the private goings on of the students, whether they were true or false. With The Revealer tearing through Hogwarts what will happen to the students? Will they overcome the rumors and be able to keep their friendships and possibly make new ones or will it tear them apart?

What if the Prophecy that made Harry Potter the 'Boy who lived' hadn't been given to the Dark Lord? What if a falsified Prophecy had been passed to him instead?
In 1980, Severus Snape overheard a prophecy about the person with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord. However, before he could hand over this knowledge to Voldemort- he was apprehended by Dumbledore. Knowing that Severus Snape could never betray Lily Evans, he convinced him not to pass on the Prophecy. Instead, using the knowledge that Severus Snape was an excellent Occlumens, they managed to create a false prophecy- one about the Dark Lord rising to power in the future, however, they don't say when. It is open ended, but the Dark Lord believes his only inside man at Hogwarts. He has no choice. Though he has been convicted of unspeakable crimes, he manages to disappear. He travels the world- studying anything he can in every country from Romania to Albania. Awaiting the day he will rise to ultimate power.
The terror stops. Lily and James Potter have their son, Harry James. The Wizarding World is at peace once more. This group of wizards that caused terror earlier seem to have disbanded. However, they are merely lying in wait. Only meeting in secret once every few years to see who has remained faithful- those who have not mysteriously 'disappear'. It is at the Qudditch World Cup when these blood supremacist decide to ultimately make themselves known. They attack the camp outside the stadium. They Auror's aren't quick enough to apprehend them. The only thing that's left is the horrible green mark hanging in the sky. While Tom Riddle is their ultimate suspect, they have no proof. He has not yet "Returned" from his study abroad.
When he does, Dumbledore is ready. The man who returns to Hogwarts to apply for the Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor is charming, and brilliant. Dumbledore hires him on the spot- what better way to watch your enemy then by keeping them under your own roof? Dumbledore is certain that he will not run again, and if he is the one doing these terrible things, they will catch him at the school.
The year is 1995, When Harry, Ron and Hermione return to Hogwarts. A few changes have been made to the staff over the summer, the most noticeable being the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor; A Mr. Tom Marvolo Riddle. His new post is widely questioned by the wizarding world; The man has been convicted of murders throughout the seventies, why would Dumbledore hire him to teach young children? Dumbledore simply plays it off saying that he has applied "twice before". That he has not been able to be convicted of anything. Mr. Riddle has, after all, been studying abroad since the 1980's, and is very knowledgeable on his subject.
Harry Potter and Tom Riddle are about to cross paths, For neither can live while the other survives...

Your character, rather than being built around a premade, will be built around a song of your choosing. The way you interpret this song and how you bring it to life is entirely up to you. You can choose a song that describes their strongest feeling, their background, their personality, a third-party view of the character, a very prominent memory that effects who they are, etc. The possibilities are limitless. Is "Party Like a Rockstar" really a rockstar, or is this just their personal fantasy? And how would they interact with "Jesus Take the Wheel"? Does "Everything's Coming Up Roses" really believe things are getting better, or is she desperately clinging to the notion that things will look up if she believes it hard enough? And "Stacey's Mom"....what is her deal? The point is to get creative and find the untold story within the song and create a character from it. With millions of songs to choose from and no set premades, the choices are yours. |
