&netherworld;

As it is known to mankind now when death grips a lifeform they perish and are sent into the earth where they will reincarnate into something beautiful and provide the world with the always looping circles of life and death. But, what if those always interlocking circles were bent and broken apart leaving the Valley of the Light forever separated from the Land of the Dead never to continue on the chain reactions of life, death and reincarnation. However this does leave the question: Where does one go when they die if these linked circles are torn apart? A question that has a solution only known to those who have passed on to see their new land.

Enter the Netherworld.

A sub-world once connected to the state of the living, the Netherworld is an area with many realms all connected to each other by strange portals. Although the Netherworld in itself is mostly a neutral land, there are certain realms that seem to be more of a threat than the others. It is true that to be in this world one must be dead and therefore shouldn't have the need for fear of any things that could be even remotely ominous - but with death comes fear and with fear comes pain. Dead one might be, food you may not need but even in the Netherworld blood and pain are as real as the living.

There are four different realms joined together in the Netherworld, each one with their own creatures native to its grounds - it is up to those in the realms to decided for themselves which creatures are friend and which are foe. Judge not by their looks entirely for such things can be deceiving. Shelter can be found if you look hard enough in areas such as caves, and holes. They can even be built if one is creative enough to try. Food and drink are not necessities in the Netherworld as there is no hunger to be felt. There is only one large difference between the living and the dead carried into the Netherworld - the dead have no hearts. The similarities are as simple as if one is cut they will bleed and feel pain. Cold and warm tempuratures have effects on the dead although it is minor. Injuries sustained in death are carried over into the Netherworld as permanent scars.

There is but one rule to the land that allows you to pass through realms so freely: the dead cannot visit the land of the living under any circumstances. The living may, however, visit the dead. Perhaps - if one is lucky enough to be called by the living for a meeting, that is.

The Game is now Opened

~strings
there are just too many hp games out there that die because of inactivity. why do they go inactive? maybe because they lack freedom, plotting, or the boy who lived. in short, [info]strings is a different kind of hp game. we are epilogue, but we don't have a strict policy as to following canon. talk to us! we're very reasonable people.

over the years, most of us have grown to love our characters, no matter who you play. [info]strings has a variety of characters, all of whom are the babies of our babies. if you loved playing pansy parkinson, how about giving amelia flint, her daughter a chance? michael corner? mike's got three boys, for you! so many characters have been pigeon-holded (good guy, bad guy) in the hp rp world and [info]strings wants to break free from this. do what you want with your own character.

the game is called [info]strings because somehow or another, everyone is connected in the world. it might take 26 different degrees of connections, but a always goes to z. the game is relationship centered. there are no dark plot lines that cause every other person to die or anything like that. we're here for development and there is no better way to get into your character's head than to play them!

various elements have been changed. if you are a die-hard canon fan, this game might not be for you. we didn't like rowling's epilogue. sorry, loves!

It's one of those in-between places; a place that hides deep in the cracks, in the fissures between worlds and times, without ever really being a part of one or the other. You can't find it on purpose, but when you need it (even if you don't realise it at the time), you're bound to end up at its door sooner or later. It's a refuge, of sorts - if only for a time. It's a place for the young.

The Inbetween Place is a brand-new panfandom game with a unique spin. Set in an inn suspended between worlds, a place that - like Narnia - only the young can find, the game is made up entirely of characters aged eighteen and under. Players may choose characters who are children in canon, or bring in canonly older characters from a point in their childhood, allowing you to explore old favourites from a distinctly different angle.

What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans, and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty and democracy? -- Gandhi
--

The world is not what it once was; though, it is trying desperately to get back to that place. Lord Voldemort has been banished for nearly a decade, but all has not been calm. A new bad boy rose through the ranks to try to accomplish a political take over that would eradicate the Wizarding World of the Mugglebornes.

That was nearly a year ago. As of last summer (mid-July 2003), the Ministry of Magic is back to normal and the new generation has climbed the hierarchy to hold prominent positions in the Ministry of Magic. Death Eaters who can be linked to their crimes are in Azkaban or on the run. While the Order of the Phoenix (directed by Harry Potter) is still technically an organization, it is all but useless now. The members are too preoccupied with their families and jobs. Everything is becoming normal again.

How long can that last? How long can Harry Potter's generation muddle through the world without complete chaos following them? What new connections will be made now that not everyone is preparing for a war?

Ever Wonder What The Lives Of The Chosen Ones Are Really Like?

Welcome To New York's Upper East Side, Where we live and go to school and play and sleep - sometimes with each other. We all live in huge apartments with our own bedrooms and bathrooms and phone lines. We have unlimited access to money and booze and whatever else we want, and our parents are rarely home, so we have tons of privacy. We're smart, we've inherited classic good looks, we wear fantastic clothes, and we know how to party. Our shit still stinks, but you can't smell it because the bathroom is sprayed hourly by the maid with a refreshing scent made exclusively for us by French perfumers.

It's a luxe life, but someone's got to live it.

Rhyfedd Ceyrydd: An Urban Legend RPG [26 Feb 2008|02:02pm]
A new RPG group for creatures of fantasy and urban legend- vampires, werewolves, spirits, witches, Fae- centred around Cardiff; city of Dr. Who and Torchwood fame. The Rift, a series of fissures in the nature of reality and the universe that makes interdimensional travel much easier there, is starting to act weirder than usual, and as such, all sorts of new people (and non-people) are arriving in the city. This new influx of strange and unusual citizens means those employed to police the supernatural population are rushed off their feet, trying to protect their new charges from the merciless stone angels and revengeful Fae...

title or description

It started off with just things like not being allowed near the stone circle at night and the odd Ragtag driving into the city off the non-existent Junction 31 on the M4. The Smiths had an easy enough job fitting in those who wanted to stay, helping those back who didn't and getting rid of and covering up those who weren't going to have it that staying undercover is important.

The problem is, though, that this city is weird and listens to those who live in it and this city's changed a lot over the last few years...

Now there's Ragtags coming in from all over, things that you've only ever heard of in folklore, and the Smiths are rushed off their feet trying to keep an uneasy peace and stopping the normal residents from finding out things are anything but everyday.

It's working though. There's selkies in the Bay and vampires working night shift up at the hospital. There's Fae studying music at the Uni and most of the Smiths are students these days too. It's hectic and the brand new fractures around town sometimes make travelling impossible and the statues try to kill you at night because the city listens to people’s ideas about it but it's working...

For now.

Opening 1st March 2008

A Future Era Harry Potter RPG
LINKS: Premise.x.Rules.x.Possible Characters.x.Character Directory.x.Taken Play-Bys.x.Application.x.FAQ

After Harry Potter defeated You-Know-Who, the Wizarding world moved on and started rebuilding their lives. And it wasn't long before the peoples lives were focused on the mundane parts of everyday life, and marriages and families started being formed.

It is the year 2030. Things have changed. A virus was released two months ago that has killed off nearly the entire Muggle population.

The English Ministry has issued a new law. All civilians over the age of eighteen and out of Hogwarts are given a mate, and must marry them and have children. All those that do not comply will be thrown into Azkaban or sent to the lab to be artificially inseminated. Riot has broken out, fear has spread. People are being attacked and killed in their own homes, and no one knows who's responsible.

Is it the Ministry that everyone looks up to? The one Harry Potter had worked so hard to rebuild? People are accusing them, but they are denying it.

The Daily Prophet has been banned, so no one is getting answers.

Or has there been a new group formed? Is there a new Dark Lord brewing in the midst of all the chaos and confusion? Is there a new Death Eater group forming to suck the life out of us that we are all clinging to? And how closely are they connected to the Ministry?

Some are happy. Some are not. Some speak out. Many hide in fear. Those of us go to Azkaban, others of us comply. People are dying. Few have joined the Dark Side. Many have banned against the Ministry of Magic. Some are being attacked. Others are doing the attacking.

Which one are you?

WANTED: Abercrombie's, Flint Son, Avery's, Baddock's, Boot's, Boy Carmichael, Girl Coote, Creevey sons [oldest twins], Corfoot Sister, Davies Sister, Finch-Flectchley brothers, McCormack sisters [Kirley Duke's daughters] Finnigan Girl, Goldstein Boy, Harper Girl, Goyle Boy, Hoopers, Jordan girl, Alice Longbottom, Zabini's children, the FINAL Weasley [Charlie's daughter].
