The war against Voldemort and his followers is over, having taken place during the summer, Voldemort being the one to fall at Harry Potter's hand. After the war with Voldemort the Wizarding world was in ashes. Diagon Alley - Gone. Hogwarts and the other schools - in ruin. The Ministry and Azkaban were the only places standing, and that was just barely. The students are faced with the hardest way of life they've ever known. The war was easy compared to this, for some Families.They're forced to get along side by side with Muggles and hide their true natures and way of life. For some this is not a big deal. For others it's harder than a snowball's chance in hell. And now there are rumors someone's starting where Voldemort left off but no one knows where the rumors came from or who this person is. It's just one more worry among the hundreds of new things. There are eight dorm buildings, four for females on one side of the campus, and four for males on the opposite side. They have been renamed to fit the Hogwart's system - and new students assigned a house. Muggle students are sorted by a pre-entrance exam while the Wizarding students are locked away in a meeting at the Ministry, where the sorting hat does it's work. That means Muggles are housed with Wizards, and Wizards with Muggles. The Wizards are forced to take Muggle classes while working on their Magical studies - one building having been sequestered for the Wizarding population for use during the last two periods of the day. How do you get along day to day with a Muggle? How do you, as a Muggle, take to these strange, secretive students? WANTED:SIBLINGS TO ANY OF OUR TAKEN CHARACTERS, MALE CHARACTERS! [21 Feb 2008|04:42pm] &netherworld; As it is known to mankind now when death grips a lifeform they perish and are sent into the earth where they will reincarnate into something beautiful and provide the world with the always looping circles of life and death. But, what if those always interlocking circles were bent and broken apart leaving the Valley of the Light forever separated from the Land of the Dead never to continue on the chain reactions of life, death and reincarnation. However this does leave the question: Where does one go when they die if these linked circles are torn apart? A question that has a solution only known to those who have passed on to see their new land. Enter the Netherworld. A sub-world once connected to the state of the living, the Netherworld is an area with many realms all connected to each other by strange portals. Although the Netherworld in itself is mostly a neutral land, there are certain realms that seem to be more of a threat than the others. It is true that to be in this world one must be dead and therefore shouldn't have the need for fear of any things that could be even remotely ominous - but with death comes fear and with fear comes pain. Dead one might be, food you may not need but even in the Netherworld blood and pain are as real as the living. There are four different realms joined together in the Netherworld, each one with their own creatures native to its grounds - it is up to those in the realms to decided for themselves which creatures are friend and which are foe. Judge not by their looks entirely for such things can be deceiving. Shelter can be found if you look hard enough in areas such as caves, and holes. They can even be built if one is creative enough to try. Food and drink are not necessities in the Netherworld as there is no hunger to be felt. There is only one large difference between the living and the dead carried into the Netherworld - the dead have no hearts. The similarities are as simple as if one is cut they will bleed and feel pain. Cold and warm tempuratures have effects on the dead although it is minor. Injuries sustained in death are carried over into the Netherworld as permanent scars. There is but one rule to the land that allows you to pass through realms so freely: the dead cannot visit the land of the living under any circumstances. The living may, however, visit the dead. [21 Feb 2008|05:19pm] ANOMALOUS Game History x Rules x FAQ x App x Held x Cast x Contact/F-Button Started in July, Anomalous was a long running game on GJ which, due to the fact the we have dedicated previous members, was petitioned to be brought back from the dead... PREMISE Welcome to a world influenced by power. There are no superhuman heroes, no dastardly villains here. You may be used to hearing stories of people joining secret teams and forming legions, flying around on planes, but this is not a comic book. This is a generation of gifted humans who, in the past year, have lost their once normal lives. Some of these "mutations" were worse than others, but together they all are united in the fact that their lives will never be the same again. People began to notice things wrong with themselves. Wounds would heal faster, massive headaches would ensue, and suddenly they were in a different room. A man prayed to God that the next time he opened his eyes, his glance wouldn't destroy whatever fell within his gaze. When the American government found out about these "super beings", one thing stood in mutual agreement; they were a threat. Like all threats, they must be contained and exposed of. The general public, perpetually afraid of the different and strange, spawned hate crimes that spread like wild fire. This evolutionary jump wasn't just isolated to the United States. All over the world, people began to realize their true potential. Foriegn governments are trying to recruit them to military forces, wanting nothing more than to control them. Scientists search out these special people, their intentions both good and bad. What was once considered normalcy has been corrupted. Questions with no anwers are on the tip of everyone's tongue: How, or why; are they connected? Is there a greater purpose, be it dark or light, that they must face? Arguments of the rights belonging to these once normal beings began the hot debate for political meetings. Should they be required to register, and if they had too strong of an ability should they be "dealt with"? Already, many of these "freaks", as some would call them, were using their powers for personal gain, and there was a concern that it would escalate. They would rob, they would cheat, and they would kill to seek vengence. Then there were those who tried to stay out of the limelight, frightened of their powers and the consequences that came with them. And there were those who found these powers as a way to gain attention, using them to save lives and get their name flashed on the evening news. There has also been more signifigant damage. An earthquake has, for the most part, destroyed Sussex, New York. In response to this disaster, a panel was formed. These individuals are now one of the driving powers behind the future of the Anomalous. Some of the memebers would see these super-powered humans destroyed, or rounded up. While others are secretly fighting to keep their own freedom. Senetor Kelly, the main force behind ostracizing the Anomalous, was wounded at his own birthday celebration. Many other people were hurt...some were killed. The blame for this "attack" was placed on this new brand of humanity. Laws were passed, to help protect the citizens of New York. The first, the Heddison Law, prohibits any use of Anomalous ability against any member of city law enforcement. The second is the Couventry Law, restricing the use of power at any group function or public event. For the last month, there has been peace. With no violent outbursts from either side, New York City is holding a collective breath. Who will make the next move? These are The Anomalous - the changed, the powerful, the revolutionized. For years, the stories have circulated of the Witchbreed: young men bearing strange abilities and magical powers; folk who can fly, kill at a touch or read a person's deepest secrets simply by looking into their eyes. And whether or not the tales are to be believed, those in power are apt to look upon the unfamiliar with fear and suspicion. Spain has responded most violently: the Inquisition persecutes anybody who looks different or appears to have supernatural abilities, burning dozens of people as Witchbreed. In England, Queen Elizabeth I has remained mildly tolerent of the Witchbreed; as long as they have not troubled her people, she has not seen fit to trouble them. She has thus far turned a blind eye to the operations of Spanish national Carlos Javier, who has established a haven for the strange new breed under the guise of a selective school for the sons of gentlefolk. However, recent events have thrown England in disarray. The Queen has been assassinated by an unknown agent and James VI of Scotland has been propelled to the English throne. James, whose fear and hatred of the Witchbreed is legendary, was quick to lay the finger of blame on the creatures he so despises. He has dispatched men to capture and kill any known to be Witchbreed, and hefty rewards are offered to any who are able to identify or turn in anybody showing unexplained powers. Meanwhile, in Domdaniel, Spain, the Grand Inquisitor Enrique himself has been revealed as one of the very monsters he hunts, secretly smuggling away any who could pass for human, gathering disciples - a Brotherhood of Witchbreed. He and his followers have escaped death at the stake and fled from Spain to whereabouts unknown, leaving behind them a heightened atmosphere of fear and suspicion. The world is an increasingly unfriendly place for those who are different. Master Javier's college remains one of the few safehavens for the Witchbreed, but it seems only a matter of time before it, too, is uncovered by James' men. Opening February 26 post comment

What if a falsified Prophecy had been passed to him instead? The year is 1995, When Harry, Ron and Hermione return to Hogwarts. A few changes have been made to the staff over the summer, the most noticeable being the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor; A Mr. Tom Marvolo Riddle. His new post is widely questioned by the wizarding world; The man has been convicted of murders throughout the seventies, why would Dumbledore hire him to teach young children? Dumbledore simply plays it off saying that he has applied "twice before". That he has not been able to be convicted of anything. Mr. Riddle has, after all, been studying abroad since the 1980's, and is very knowledgeable on his subject. Its been months now since President McCannials was elected. Since then, life for mutants has been growing more and more difficult. Left and right, mutants are losing their jobs. Left and right, mutants are being found dead. Left and right, mutants are losing their rights, their families, their homes, their lives. A mutant hospital has been opened, known as "the New York Establishment of Mutantology", a testing facility for Mutantologists (that is, Mutant scientists) for better understanding of abilities, how they got them. Every day mutants are being taken into the hospital for testing, and some of them aren't making it out. A drug has been created, for testing on the mutants. It is believed that the drug will put an end to the abilities these mutants hold. But not all mutants are being stopped. Some are dying from the side effects (however covered up by the Government), some are getting new abilities. The effects of this drug are widely unknown. On November 15, 2020 - a flyer was sent out to every family in America, listing all the laws mutants were expected to follow. If these rules were not followed correctly, the mutant will be punished by hospitalization, or death. What do you think?
