![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) scrumping is an adult oriented Harry Potter verse rpg. We are focused on relationship and adult themes. The year is 2001 and Voldemort has been dead for a long time. Peace has filled the land! Conflicts have not however, disappeared. Romance and love has ensued and so has disagreements and strong dislike for one another. Relationships are being formed and life is still difficult, if not in the same way as it was during the war. Some friendships and relationships are flourishing while some look awful. Some are just forming and some are purely for the sake of pleasure. There are good guys and bad guys and strong personalities are effecting everyone around them. People are in love as well as jealous and people are starting to use and lie to others when needed. Love isn't all sunshine and daisies.
The game welcomes in character drama. Character plots and development as well as writing what you want for fun is a reason for this game. We like canon relationships, and canon facts are valid from books 1-7. Characters are still dealing with losses during the war as well as dramatic changing. What kind of person will your character be in this game?
Scrumping has lots of activity and interaction going on, and we'd love for some new characters to jump in! We've removed some inactive characters after a recent activity check and we need some spots filled with ACTIVE PEOPLE stat! We aren't a game that takes ourselves TOO seriously. While we do love canon, we also just want to have fun, so check us out. We have players that are willing to interact and plot all the time.

Beyond the Ring
Welcome back to Middle Earth. It is two years after the War, the ring has been destroyed, and now everyone is attempting to pick up the pieces of their lives and rebuild a new world based on peaceful co-existence. The Nine Walkers have gone their separate ways, some to their homelands, some to the world beyond this one, but all are still linked by the indestructible bonds of love and friendship.
The world of Middle Earth is finally at peace, and all hope that it stays that way for a long time to come. That’s where you come in. How did the War affect you and your kind? Have you found a way to peacefully co-exist with other races, or are you stuck steadfastedly with your kin?
How long will peace last? Is there another evil, just biding its time until it has a chance to strike? Or are we destined to live out the course of our lives without worry or strife? If another war does happen, which side will you be on?

Tidbit of the Premise:
Lysander, during his readings through the journals, discovered the story of a Fourth Hallow and with the reluctant help of Hugo and Albus began the search for it. Little did they know that the Fourth Hallow was with them all along. When Hugo Weasley first left for Hogwarts, he had been given a present that his father hadn't received until his seventeenth birthday. It looked like an ordinary watch. There was nothing spectacular about it and it had been in the Weasley family for ages.
The boys were outside near the Great Lake, Hugo swinging the watch idly in his hand when his cousin Roxanne (or Roxy as he thought of her) set off one of her father's latest inventions on the boys. In Hugo's attempt to get away from the billowing and smelly smoke, the watch struck rock and popped open for the first time in centuries. There was a rip in time and space; a tesseract.
The Lowdown:
We all know you were thinking it. What the sodding expletive was JK thinking? Everyone knows Neville marries Luna and Percy gets it on with Penelope. Well here's your chance to not only play with those devlish scribbles on a napkin, but also their parents..before they were parents!
You see, the children were sent back in time to the year 2000 and become stuck there with their parents even though their parents are of the same age. The Tesseract they created causes the dead to come back to life and no one knows how to stop it. Jumble that up with a release of prisoners from Azkaban and you have holy plot batman. Just think; a world with Gellert Grindelwald or Tom Riddle! The possibilities are endless.

Last days of school and
you're in inkyfingered, inksplotted parchment bliss. Who's
going to get the most NEWTS? Who's Head Boy and Girl? Who was caught
in the prefects' bathroom by Mr Pringle and exactly what detention did
they get? There are parties, and Quidditch matches, and many other
things aside. Except 1974 is no ordinary school year. On September the
1st, the train was waylaid on the way to Platform Nine and Three
Quarters. The muggleborn students found that the platform itself was
blocked off; no entry. Those who got to the train discovered the
absence of their friends as soon as the train pulled out of the
station. Thank goodness for little devices, cooked up by the Prewett
twins and distributed at large.
Those claiming responsibility? 'Society for the Protection of Magic'.
They even have leaflets. Hold onto your hats, boys and girls. The only
thing normal about this school year is the inksplotted
parchment. |

The wind blew gently across the plans of green. The sun softly shining upon the country. You awake in a new world. Sitting up you look about trying to figure out where you are. You find out your in the year 1920 in a strange new country called Amestris. You begin to relies you are not in your not in Kansa any more. All you can recall before being here is standing in front of a large black gate. The gate opened and you awoke here. You’ve lost your valuables, some of your precious skills, and your memories. Why are you here? What happened to you? AND WHERE’S YOUR STUFF? These questions are for you to find out.

Albus Dumbledore exclaimed that death was just a new adventure. Religions around the world believe your spirit travels to a new place, no matter where that place may be. The wizarding world is littered with ghosts and physical spirits, but they have never seen the afterlife. Only those with unfinished business have been set to that fate; only when your conscience is clear are you then are you taken to the afterlife.
Once ferried over into the afterlife you are no longer permitted into the previous realm. Some see this as a blessing, and look for their Charon; the one to ferry them to the next adventure. Many wait at the gate, looking for a lost loved one to meet again; some will be disappointed, others will rejoice.
This adventure was known to the Ancient Greeks as "The Elysian Fields". No longer just a field, but a place where one makes their own. All opportunities are given with blessings being rewarded. Only, what happens when Charon is no longer the ferryman? When is a life sentence up? Can someone die within the field? Who will then bring those spirits to their release? And who will stop those who don't belong?
Your natural life has been lived, you have affected all the people that you can. Legends are only a name, but your spirit will live on. Now your adventure is here. Heed the knowledge you have gained, learn the lessons that have been taught, for now eternity begins.
Explanation of game: Your character has died, but you are not angels, you are not devils. You now embark on the greatest adventure. You have your wand, your magic still exists, but you are only as strong as you once were. You have all of eternity to build what you need, a home, strength, knowledge, and power. But the most trivial are useless...or so it was believed. Charon has been corrupted, and those who didn't pay the toll have been brought aboard the ferry. Gifts that were given, now must be earned. Grasp onto your mortality for as long as you can, because it will be your only saving grace.

What if the Prophecy that made Harry Potter the 'Boy who lived' hadn't been given to the Dark Lord? What if a falsified Prophecy had been passed to him instead?
The year is 1995, When Harry, Ron and Hermione return to Hogwarts. A few changes have been made to the staff over the summer, the most noticeable being the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor; A Mr. Tom Marvolo Riddle. His new post is widely questioned by the wizarding world; The man has been convicted of murders throughout the seventies, why would Dumbledore hire him to teach young children? Dumbledore simply plays it off saying that he has applied "twice before". That he has not been able to be convicted of anything. Mr. Riddle has, after all, been studying abroad since the 1980's, and is very knowledgeable on his subject.

Game Info: The Middle Path is a game centering around St. Gregory's School. The school is located in the hills of Virginia and was formed by Warren Worthington and Sean Cassidy in 1995. There was never a Xavier's School for the Gifted nor were there ever X-Men. They are, primarily, a school first and foremost with a mutant superhero team being second. The game is based around interpersonal interaction with occasional explosions.
