Hello! First time poster!

I'm playing a steampunky game, and I wanted to know if there was a fun, easy way to set up code so my players could post telegrams to one another in game. Like, embed images of telegrams with text overlayed into a post.

For example: this as a background image, with a textbox over it that could be typed into with an old-timey all caps font.

Any help would be appreciated!

Sorry to the owner of this journal, but it doesn't look like it's active anymore?

Anyone know the code of this ooc layout? I don't want the information stuff that goes beneath the cut tag - I want to put something different there. But I def want it to work with a cut tag. Hopefully that makes sense.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!

I've been looking for either a layout or table that looks like an old notebook? The closest thing I've been able to find is the default "Notebook" one Insanejournal supplies but I'm not a fan of it.
Something like this,or this would be phenomenal.

First time poster, long time follower. I am kind of sure there is a code for S1 journal codes to make entries change from ascending to descending order. Problem? I can't find it. I have absolutely no clue what it is. If anyone knows please please PLEASE tell me. Thank you so much.

I recently joined my first forum/proboards RPG, after only playing on journal sites for many, many years, and I was wondering if anyone had links to character profiles or other shiny templates that use BBCode? I'm completely lost on this kind of code.

Thank you in advance!

Coding question:
This is the layout I'm currently tweaking (credit goes to [info]chestnutgallery). How do I add drop shadows to my entry boxes/header? And how can I add, say, a border around these and give them a rounded corners instead of pointy corners? if that makes sense. :|

I'm trying to remember the coding, but how do I fix it so on an s1 generator layout - only so many posts display per page?

Firefox problem

[info]morethancostume

I have discovered an unexpected problem with one of my layouts in Firefox. I'm using a border-radius to shape an element and applying a box-shadow to it to give it some depth. When I pull up the layout in Firefox, most of these elements render properly - they're all coded the same way. But occasionally, one of the elements is shaped properly - but its box-shadow forms a normal rectangle, like it's not being clipped properly by the border-radius property.

I've done some searching to see if I can find a common solution, but nothing's turned up. Here's a tiny screencap, followed by the code producing this effect:

I would really appreciate some help on figuring this one out. The simple solution is obviously to ditch the box shadows, but it makes the elements look too flat.

I want to use one of Lobelia's really lovely layouts, Katinka, but I'm pretty html black-thumbed. I'd ask on her IJ but the last comments are all from last year. :(

Is there a way to change out the module code for the calendar to list the tags instead?

Good morning,

So I'm coding a new bio code cause it has been forever since I've coded something and I thought I should get back into the practice of doing so.

I had the layout perfect then discovered a spelling error (oops), went in and fixed the spelling error and now the Character Name TD is no longer rounded in the corners like the other ones.

The spelling error was nowhere near that code.

I AM BAFFLED

Is the code for the layout. I've tested it in Chrome, Safari and IE. It worked in Chrome and Safari but then after fixing the error it stopped working in those and didn't work in IE.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Update: Thanks to [info]neverstill's help I got it worked out. thank you to everyone who contributed. :)

I'm working on a layout for a character that uses an S2 Bloggish style. Currently, the layout looks like this and I've gotten it to the point of having the navigation links centered. However, I'd like the nav links to look something like this instead and I've tried to get to that point but I just can't seem to reach it. Usually, I'm fairly good at figuring things out, but I have to say I'm rather stumped on this, lol. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! :)

I found this code on a journal that I absolutely adored and wanted to use, but I can't seem to make it show up in my journal. You can see it if you go to the page itself which isn't what I was going for.

Since I snagged the code from page source, I'm sure I got something wrong and don't have the journal's original code source to see where they got it and find a solution.

Any help would be appreciated, even if it's a point in the right direction.

Edit: Picture!

I'm currently using and tweaking this layout from [info]coding. At the moment it looks like this after I tried fiddling with the code, but I would like it to look like this.
A. Is it possible?
B. If it is possible, what part of the code should I actually be working on?
Thank you to anyone that can help me out! :3 And here is my tweaked code:

I'm not sure if I would be able to get a response, but I figured I would ask anyhow. There's no harm in it, right?

I recently contacted the author of this journal and asked them if I could snag the code. No response. I honestly don't think they would mind since there wasn't any actual 'edited by soandso'.

My question is this: would anybody be willing to either make me a layout like that or just simply direct me to the sections in the source code to copy and paste.
I am so freaking html illiterate, it isn't even funny.

Hey, all! I have an issue you can probably see here. Under the icon of the user journal, I'd like the linked username and/or community to have a different color, but no matter what I've tried, it remains black. I've cleared out my colors, I've changed it in the coding, I've done everything I can think to do. Is there some secret trick I don't know? It's driving me crazy! I really don't want to have to have a background color behind it, I'd rather just lighten it if possible. Does anyone know how to do that? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Sooooo. I grabbed a layout style from ~themisprojected and if you can't view the entry, here is the preview screenshot (I know, it's fookin' tineh!). The layout has been tweaked for ~adimpleate (many thanks to ~themplusme for the help!), but even with the original code I noticed that the navigation links do not align or look like they do in the original screenshot. Currently, this is how it looks, but I'd like it to look like this (thank you Photoshop!).
1. Is it even possible to do that? If so...
2. What part of the code do I edit?
I've tried to figure it out on my own numerous times and have not been successful. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. ♥

P.S. Please let me know if you need the code and I'll grab it for you. c:
